Bullshit. It wasn't because of him "in full control" that the album sucked. It was because the guys making the songs couldn't do it. Metallica couldn't focus on their doings since the relationships were at all time low. James was a full blown alcoholic when they started and recovering took it's toll. What comes to Lars, his ego is bloated. Kirk seemed to be the only rational among those three but he was unable to settle things down. I'm just glad they got back up from this.
