Exactly what is so "clumsy" about her answer? These media idiots aren't intelligent enough to follow her? She's simply saying that oil & coal is a fungible (exchangeable) commodity but that it may be difficult to track. Then she said that we have hungry markets in the USA that need the oil first, but Congress shouldn't make the export bans so high that we lose money and can't afford to produce it to feed the domestic markets even, which is the priority. How is that so complicated to understand.

She's right to some degree - oil is a fungible commodity and she's somewhat right on her answer about Congress. The problem is is that this is not an answer that should come from a "energy expert," probably not even a high school student, and even though her answer is somewhat on the mark it's evidence that she is in no way an expert

The newsmen aren't supposed to editorialize. They're supposed to present the news as a neutral observer. Her answer was convoluted, but the fact that Wolf Blitzer was practically licking his chops at the thought of bashing her makes me wonder where American journalism is heading.
I also wonder if he took as much pleasure setting up Obama misspeaking about how many states are in the Union. Or if he played the clip at all.
