You'll notice that in electro theres more funky electronic kinda sounds and not really much melody whereas in dance its more synths and specific melodies in a specific structure. the drums are also different even though it doesnt sound like it, but listen carefully and you'll see

It's electro and hip-hop influenced soul. You know it when you hear it, really, The best modern example is Chromeo.

"Planet Rock" would probably be best described as electro influenced hip-hop, like "Supersonic" by JJ Fad, not electro funk. You can't forget the funk or soul element in electro funk.

your prob right, nearly everything is coppied now and its all DJ friendly 4 to the floor beats, makes it hard to tell what it is or what name it should be under. its a sad world for music when remixes gets remixed and the remix gets remixed over and over. just glad i was old enough to experience real electro when it first hit the speakers, some of these so called famous DJ's need some artistic tallent slapping into them. who the feck is pete tong and the other goons. no tallent just beat mixers
