Wa this play supervised and/or approved of by Pete Townshend? This looks really good, but "Tommy" was his creation, and nearly every song (except two by John Entwistle, I think) were written by him. Just curious here.
@4rainbowed yes there is documentary about it I believe called "I Believe my own Eyes" I could be wrong about the title though. Pete wrote a song for the Broadway production and was involved with it.
@NickBFilms well in the 70's the Who actually made a movie musical off of there Rock Opera cd Tommy. (All star cast too, Eric Clapton, Tina Turner, Elton John, and Jack Nicholson to name a few.)
Buenos recuerdos.
the first thing I did after a self-imposed exile from NYC to the Rocky Mountains was to take my wife to Broadway to see Toomy...she finally undestands my Who-obsession...and I still have an original poster from the musical...
LONG LIVE ROCK!
LONG LIVE THE WHO!
BTW, I can't wait to catch Daltrey on the upcoming solo tour...
Good god, almighty. Tommy looks like Conrad Birdie in Bye, Bye, Birdie. I wonder if that's what they really had in mind when they cast Ann Margret in the film version?
