Plus, those aren't crash helmets and isn't that the whole point in a vehicle? I combat helmet is gonna be dripping with your brain if you are in an accident and experience a hit. It'll be worse being in the wrong helmet than no helmet at all. Also consider the neck damage.

Not going to stop a bullet. I believe that you THINK it will, however the PASGT you're wearing isn't going to. BAE makes two models: ACH or Warrier HB, and they have NIJ IIIA rating but you aren't wearing those.
Plus, those aren't crash helmets and isn't that the whole point in a vehicle? I combat helmet is gonna be dripping with your brain if you are in an accident and experience a hit. It'll be worse being in the wrong helmet than no helmet at all. Also consider the neck damage.

@nccrawford The helmet I wear doesn't seem to bother the British Army & British Special Forces Department's. It's working fine for them & actually does have the NIJ IIIA class rating. It's also very comfortable. And if that's the one I want to wear, that's the one I'll wear. I've heard info like yours before, but no one has ever given me any proof that someones neck has broken either.

FBI and combat troops wear this helmet because they expect to be shot at. If a civilian wears this helmet, they give the impression that they expect the same. A 10 dollar bicycle helmet will be adequate protection and won't look as suspicious. I don't blame the cops for detaining you at all.

I had a friend who was a passenger in a car and it hit a tree at the side of the road.His head was like hacked in the middle splitting it. If he was wearing helmet while in the fast lane roads,he might have survived. Many deaths are caused by head injuries even inside cars, not riding motorcycles. Being aware that there are many drunk drivers out there, foolish to look wearing one inside but it sure is safe. Even tankers and race car drivers wear them.
