I notice you have a full face helmet but have chosen the boom mic Scala rather than the corded version, is there any reason for this? I wan to buy the Scala but have been looking at the corded version.
@Puckerbeer, this model is more flexible and can be mounted on any half-face or full-face helmet. I like this one because it gives more flexibility, didn't really try to corded one.
I have the RF-1000, the install is very simple, the cradle just clip on to the side of the helmet, you tight the bolt, and Velcro the speakers to the inside...there is nothing to it.
When I ride, I sometimes keep the mic on the out side of the helmet if I don't need to use it, and sometimes on the inside.
As far as your Icon helmet, I'm not exactly sure but if you can fit your thumb between your mouth and the helmet than you should be fine (when you use the mic you want to have it as close as possible to your mouth).
Also, when you get the G4, it comes with 2 fomes for the mic, one regular shape, and one a little momre flat (which may be good fo your situation)
Greetings from Argentina. Nice test, Thanks! ...I have a couple questions... I have an Icon helmet, which fits properly (tight). There is half an inch distance between the helmet and my mouth. Does the mic fit in there?. Don´t you have this problem?. Last, do you move the mic when fitting the helmet?. Thanks!
Thanks for the positive feedback, the riding video came out a little shakie but you can get the idea of the G4 sound quality which is pretty good for talking.

I notice you have a Shoei helmet, which model is it?
I have a shoei XR-1100 and am wondering how the install will go.
