  • I would love to be in the receiving end of this. I want to try my highly sophisticated defense technique called "don't jump around like an idiot".

And seriously 0:59? I mean do you see this and still believe it is true?

It is sad that this junk actually traces back to Takeda. Daito ryu was truly used in battlefields effectively but this is a bad photocopy of a bad photocopy... Check out Katsuyuki Kondo.

  • mass hypnosis

  • bullshido

  • LOL @ 0:58

  • Gostaria de saber por que tem tanto mentiroso no mundo das artes marciais.

  • When we gonna see it in the Octagon ???

  • Agreed you must definitely be on the receiving end to appreciate.

  • senseigulio you know nothing about Daitoryu aikijujutsu...

  • hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahha ... i can,t stop laughing... :-)

  • kasa-waza 笑

  • This is not aiki ju jitsu this is a shame!!!

  • Stupid.

  • best acting ever

  • So this is what my beloved art, Hapkido, is based on?

If that is the case, the Koreans must have really improved on it.

This is a slap in the face to anyone who practices real Aikido/Hapkido/ Jujitsu.

  • Comment removed

  • I like Aikijujitsu, but this video sadly reminded me strongly of the Ki Master vs MMA video.

  • How funny. What's with all the backward head popping?

  • this bull crap......Fake Fake

  • What is this ???

  • I am Daitoryu Takumakai senoir 20 yr member in Osaka Japan..all those who say this is not Aikijujutsu is wrong..seigo Okamoto is true Daitoryu Master I have felt his aiki of Kodo Horikawa.....Aikido students do not understand daitoryu so they cannot explain these techniques...feel okamotos Soshi techniques you will believe

  • @Dojocho lol you can see difference between an ukemi and an exaduration this is prob exaduration..

even we in aikido do not do this .

  • complete bolloxs if you wanna see real aiki then check my vid, sensei nigel timmins 2nd dan randoori

  • ROFLMAO!

  • This is definitely not Aikijujutsu

  • LMFAO you all dont know what the fuck u are talking about in fact I've never seen such ignorance. in fact this is were aikido, and hopkido came from. i've taken karate wing chun, jeet kune do, hopkido, genbukan and aikido (and i hold a black belt or higher in at least three of thos) and I can tell you this the better u are at this art aikijutsu/aikido the more fake it LOOKS none the less this is in my opinion the most effective martial art there is. You all need to study up on your budo.

  • what a shame

  • Great hollywood movie !

  • horrible

  • What a bunch of nonsense. Complete garbage and a disgrace to the martial arts.

  • well, just try it out to find out if it's real or not i guess

  • i don't understand the point of this video, most of the ukemi is obviously fake but why?

  • This video is a shame for anyone who actually practice some martial art.

  • horrible!!!

  • haha it really is funny because somethins are fake xD

  • I have derived hours of enjoyment watching this 1:16 clip over and over again. Though I would honestly like to see what he could do with sincere uke who reacted solely to the technique and not to whatever performance was expected.

  • Yes I agree they are putting on a show, but aikido, aiki-jujitsu and the lot do work. Do they have weaknesses? Yes. Are those arts I mention all powerful...LOL. No. But hold on to your hats. That applies to BJJ,Sambo,Jeet Kune Do, Kali, Boxing/Wrestling and so forth. Oh and a great martial art can suck if its used by a moron.

  • wow even more bs than aikido

  • Some of this stuff is really looks like fooling around, but some could be user in combat

  • no its crap, at 15 sec in the magic begins.

the only way im going to fall with these attacks is if i trip on my hakama .

this works because no one wants to be the one that doesn't go along with this sensi

  • this is the shit that gives all aikido a bad rap. puppetmasters barely touching anyone.

  • you should feel it and get thrown by Okamoto or one of his students...before you criticize....I thought it was fake too until I went to one of his seminars years ago and got dealt the same thing as those guys in the video. ALSO, when my technique was correct I was able to throw guys....very small spherical movements...kinda like bagua...

  • its not aikido... its akijujutsu daito-ryu

And you just don't know this...

  • i know if your learn this your gonna get your ass kick .

  • LOL you guys are ignorant dont you know the master has super laser vision and mind control power hahaha...

  • Comedy... wooohahaha

  • the bit with the umbrella at 0:20....fucking comedy!!!

  • those are not students, those are the best actors ever!!!

  • @fatmelonn you have absolutely no idea what you are talking about

  • @simonpetertygesen 0:05 he let him his hand!

  • what a shit

  • Pathetic

  • Having Said That There are some Pain and Crippling Injuring Techniques that have been Developed from Martial Arts Currently Been Used by the Organized Crime and Intelligence Community to Intimidate Marks and Cripple Opponents.

Watch Some Alex Jones or Adam Curtis

  • This

    is

    Level

    four or five

    ON MY PLAYSTATION!

  • Right! LOL!

    what experience? :)

  • Kurtkobain you must be wrong..Aikido's inventer ueshiba sold everything he owned and devoted his life to the founder of this style..sokaku takeda..of which he formed aikido.

  • No my friend, it is YOU who is wrong.

Ueshiba sold everything he owned and devoted his life to being a roving minstrel. He sang songs on wine, women, and public drunkeness. It was from his bar ballads that people derrived the notion that he was some sort of enlightened teacher. "Surely", the people of Japan thought, "no one would swing their arms so ridiculously and dance with inanimate objects unless they had a revaluation about spirituality and martial arts.

And thus the legend was born.

  • No offense to anyone,,but this is bullshit!

  • Everyone saying it's misinformation (for whatever purpose) or that it "doesn't work" may not realize that this is just a demonstration. The principles behind these demos are being used flamboyantly here, but the principles, are in effect, real and apply to combat situations. If you understood how difficult it is to master the art of redirecting energy, pulling off this demonstration should appear to be only a demonstration of the potential effectiveness this art truly has.

  • this video must be misinformation or a joke

  • I have been training in this system for 4 years and it is hard, but I can toss someone across a room with the flick of a wrist now. It is NOT a fighting system - it is self defense against an attacker.

  • Wow! Some of the worst Uke-itis I have ever seen.

  • This is a joke!

  • i totally agree!

  • frostymane , you are right , it is very hard to se if it is real or not , one has to feel it to belive , it is ok for me that people do not belive it , but to be nasty , ect , is as stupid and inmature , but we live in a free world , and people like to say their opinion

  • tdotsfinest007 yet another master Great

  • um... what is this? I was under the impression that Daito house's Aikijujitsu was one of the most advanced CQC systems in the world. This looks terrible and is not applicable in any situation. I guess the real practitioners don't want people to know and are hiding it and using misinformation techniques, sigh... 8-(

  • this is not Aikido , a you have to feel it to undersyand it . and to try to explain it in a short text is impossible , there is Aikisage in the first waza a 0.09 , hes balance is taking . 1:13 there is pressure on bones and muscels + presure down on there legs , + the balance is taking/kuzushi also your breath is stop , that makes it even harder on ones body , gladf to hear that there is so many Masters out there

  • I'm not saying it's not real, I'm saying it's hard for people to believe if they aren't involved with it and the first thing they see are these techniques. No disrespect to this great school at all.

  • I've practiced aikido and I feel that it is effective if you really know how to use it, but this video of Daito-ryu aikijutsu makes me skeptical. What the hell is this: 0:09, 0:50, and look at the faces on 1:13. If this is Daito-ryu aikijutsu I can see why O-Sensei created aikido.

  • exactly! I train in aikido and its devistatingly real. And so is aikijujutsu, but this is pathetic

  • mmmm

    some things are so fake!!

  • it is not Aikido

  • censorship much?

  • Renzoko1 and Itsumomanbu were having a heated discussion and after they where done they removed all the post themselves it was not censored like you are thinking :)

  • I think that demos like these do a great harm to aikido. It's ashame.

  • i have been in Daitoryu for 23 years , and have friends , in roppokai , kodokai ,takumakai , Kondo´s Daitoryu

and many aikido styles , also in Taichi bagua , hsing i , wing chun , and we all se great things in each style , and we all know that it works

i have freinds in karate and kung fu to and they also know it works , but they like karate + kung fu better , but they are still my freinds , do what suit you best and satisfy your martial needs

  • Takuma Hisa , Horikawa Kodo , Sagawa Yokiyoshi , Takeda Tokimune , Matsuda Toshima /renshinkan , " ueshiba morihei "

Yoshida kotaro , all did their own version and made their own system of how to train teach and do Daitoryu , / people are different , and have different opinion , different body types/seize , hence some diferent in the same style, but i like when people say i can see what they are doing even thoe they have not , try it or not been in Daitoryu for many years , but still they know

  • Daitoryu Aikijujutsu has many waza at several level´s. the students do not trow themselvs , and it is not like the KI master

who lost to a karate student , but one have to try it to belive, i you look in Sagawa´s photo´s he do the same thing as Okamoto sensei, Takeda Sogaku , did not teach in Ikkajo to Gokajo manner, it is Takeda tokimune that do it in this order , takumakai have also done it , but do not do it any more, that stricly , mostly groups from Tokimune , do the ikkajo to gokajo

  • Dear freinds in kodokai and roppokai

the demo´s is on hegh level aiki , similar to what hakaru mori dos in the 2 latest demo Roppokai + kodokai dos also have the basic jujutsu waza even taht Kodo sensei did not do them in ikkajo order

Kodo horikawa also learn about jujutsu waza from Sagawa sensei about 100 waza from ikkajo to yonkajo , kondo and takumakai do ikkajo to gokajo first then aiki no jutsu , kodokai + roppokai goes rather quick to Aiki no jutsu and higher

  • I agree with Renzoko I train in Aiki Jujutsu and I have also studied Aikido. These are very Aikido looking techniques to me and on top of that people are throwing themselves around like idiots. I think this guy is rubbish and the ukies are throwing themselves just like most aikidoka do!!

  • another kiai master...

  • another kiai master....

  • I experienced the technique of one fo Okamoto sensei's students. These techniques work, although they don't have such an extreme effect every time and on everybody.

  • Comment removed

  • Ok first of all, all the trash talking baboons can just leave.

Secondly, the true importance of this art is the development of Ki. I have tried to attack one of these masters and your energy gets sucked right out of you. Go learn BJJ then fumanchudude, this is not the UFC. This is techniques you'll use in life or death situations. BJJ is good for competition, but I would rather just throw the opponent on the concrete and end it there with strikes. Lol, BJJ people think their the shit...

  • yup i agree, im doing aiki jujutsu next to my place next is daidojuku

  • It's hilarious, really.

  • Yes well the head of Daito ryu here in Australia came to our Goshin Jujitsu class and tried this kinda stuff on us.. DIDNT WORK ON ONE OF US.. Ki works, but not in this type of way..want proof.. Go watch Ki master vs MMA and see what would happen if u tried this on the street..

  • it is always nice to hear from a expert

  • Garbage, its a shame.

  • I used to do aikijutsu. And I now do BJJ. These guys are just taking falls for their sensei because they are expected to. It is pure crap and a disgrace to real martial artists.

  • Well, *it is* a demonstration, which is to demonstrate what the technique can do to a person.

There is somewhat of a scientific method to it, and though not everyone will feel some attacks (some people are resistant to pain, double jointed, etc.) you must understand it is because we are all different anatomically. It's something I cannot explain well enough because I am still early in learning jujutsu (aiki is just one aspect of my school), but you must know how energy flows through the body.

  • before you comment on if this stuff works, go watch the video on here called "intro to Daitoryu Secrets". Find out who Okamoto is throwing at 5:00. Then tell me if it is BS or not.

    Have a nice day.

  • I sooo would kick him during one of these "demonstrations"....

  • thats just rubbish in my opinion

  • is it me you are talking about ?

i do not think that i am rude or have bad

    language

  • these aiki waza may look funny and fake

one has to experience them to realy belive in them and with years of training

understand them, i think all new commers to Roppokai first think it is fake or strange or the uke was a bit to willing to jump ect . later one learn to use them (the waza ) in more realistic fight , even thou most people train for fun , and to get good health , + learn to defend one selv without to much damage to the opponent, if possible .

  • people who just talk down to it , like i can se , or i know, ect

its telling more about them and there lack

of knowledge , i admit it is very difficult to se what is going on , especially if one is not training in these arts.

  • I don't know friend ive trained in the arts for over 15 years and I have a deep respect for akijitsue but that looked pretty stupid to me.

  • Totally agree, I have been in Martial arts for 20 years and Akido was my first martial art. That was just rediculious looking to me.

  • Damn! That was so idiot... pure bullshit.

And I'm an Orbelus fan ueaheuahe uaheuahushauhsuush suhsu

I watched just to see if it was really interesting, but... I was wrong.

  • Garbage

  • Nonsense, Japanese style did you say? Then Hino Akira 1/2 and Hino Akira 2/2 plays that game. For more entertainment on Japanese nonsense see his other vids.

  • wow I'm amazed with all the know it alls here. "Most" of you are why America is becoming more and more dumb. If you never felt it keep your fat mouth shut. Fucking know it alls. Everybody is so quick to say I know or fake without experiencing it. Okamoto is real. He is teaching principles you fucktards. The techniques might not all be applicable for fighting in today's society but the principles are.

  • Comment removed

  • Comment removed

  • Mhh! Do you think he teaches courtesy and self-control too? I fear you do Okamoto's reputation little good by abasing yourself to such crude language while trying to defend his art.

  • I don't care about Okamoto's reputation. I just know what he does is real. I am not defending it. All I know is that it works. Go back in the hole from which you crawled out of please.

  • And there I was thinking Japanese martial arts were relatively free of this nonsense...

  • Comment removed

  • That was fake. For example, the last thing he did to the group of students when he laid on them and they were all struggling, when he got off....one of them still kept the face of struggling on....Actually all of them

  • some of this looks fake, but a lot of it, is the uke are taught to commit fully to their attack, and keep trying. you can see it when someone grabs him, if the guy would just try and let go, he could move. but since he keeps trying, no matter how bad a position he is in, to keep trying the same hold, he stays stuck. in real life, it lasts about 1/4 of a second, but that is enough. for a demo, they are trying to make it obvious. good aiki is good stuff, daito ryu or otherwise...

  • Coloque-o em um ringue de mma...

Put him in a mma fight...

  • Un buen arte se transforma en algo burdo cuando se caen en este tipo de demostraciones fantasiosa , paro lo que llevamos años en la practica del arte marcial esto es una burla.

  • Ha-ha-ha. It's a little bit humor?!

  • Now I'm a medical student and I know human anatomy and how the body works, but I can't for the life of me figure out why these techniques work. Just watching them, you'd think they were fake, but having been on the receiving end, I know they are anything but. And to those who teach and sign the praises of Aikido and yet bash Daito Ryu as fake, how is that even possible as Aikido comes from Daito Ryu. These techniques are not in Aikido because O-Sensei never learned them.

  • Hey Ronin ,No shit about yr comments?

  • I'm a 4th dan in kempo and my master is an 8th dan in kempo and a 5th dan in aikido. We both just took a day long Daito Ryu seminar at the Saratoga Martial Arts Festival this past weekend and we can both attest that these techniques are extremely effective. I've never been dropped to the floor so fast in my life. The muscle locking that is right at the beginning of this video is also real as it was done on me and I couldn't move. I didn't know it was coming either as I was not forewarned.

  • What a joke. This is the crap that gives real martial arts a bad name. I would love to see that guy take a punch to the face... a real punch.

  • イカサマwww

  • hahaha " At first Mr. Okamoto thought that the fights were fake, he couldn't believe that the small master Horikawa was really throwing 4 to 5 students instantly down, although they attacked all at once. However, when he was facing the master, the moment he made contact with the master's finger he was thrown down to the floor. Admiring the master's great technique, he continued to train and follow the path of Aiki."

  • Please advise me when this guy come in Italy!!! I'd like to test him personally!!! Is very sad Aikijutsu becomen such nonsense thing.....

  • you must not judge an art because of just some demonstrations, some senseis are totall atleast seems total fakes and some are violent, some others are careless and have no form.

We cannot really deside our opinion uppon some bad examples , this is why aikido and such arts are difficult to be inspired by since its very difficult to see results since there are no clear boundries like in karate, boxing and alike where you can see KO or a hit.

  • I teach Aikido and Kenpo, and you make sure I know very well what is fake or true. I don'want to give any opinion on that, but I'm ready to demonstrate these tecniques are totally fake and also the reason for which they are fake and the reason for which the uke goes down. Demonstration ... not opinion!

  • are you saying that the tecniques shown in the video fake? not an affront but a question

  • They are absolutelly fake. I'm ready to demonstrate they do not work with a honest attaker. They work just with this "master" students, and this is for a very simple reason. The same reason for which hipnotization works with some people but not with some other. Because it is absolutelly necessary that you want to do that. These uke want fall down and they want to believe this tecniques work. But a real tecnique must works in every cndition first of all if you your attaker doesn't want.

  • OK I can understand your doubts with this,

So do what I did last year and get on a plain go to Tokyo and have a go, then you can come back and talk on here with authority.

    Thank You

  • My authority comes from twenty years of experience in martial arts and fist of all Aikido. I've known a number of japanese Aikido Masters, KiAikido Masters and so on, and you can believe me when I state these techniques are fake, I'm ready to demonstrate whwnever you want, but unfortunatelly I haven't enough money to go to Japan (I'm from Italy) By

  • I have also come across several top Japanese Aikido masters at the Aikikai and others elsewhere

They are nowhere near the capabilities of high level Daito Ryu teachers,Only a few pre war students of ueshiba sensei came even close to this level,

They have vastly superior knowledge in body mechanics that produce these incredibly powerful techniques which are unknown to 99.9% of people out there.

Its obvious in your 20 years you have not.

    They are far from fake

  • May be you are right, but I don't like too much giveing opinions ... I prefer demonstrations so please give me names of some Daito High Level Master and I will reach them to demonstrate that in no cases they can do one of the technique in these videos with me. No words ... demonstrations.

  • pero por favor! basta de payasadas, que gran verso nos quieren vender, hay cosas mas reales como el chai-do-kwan, pruebenlo

  • stop bullshits

  • Oh, sorry... one other thing. If you do the techniques on outsiders without care or concern for their well-being, they may get injured.

    :)

  • very true at the tokyo roppokai they are very kind and gentle people I admit in pushing them to experience what it really feels like, i was close to getting injured and I have good ukemi skills fortunately.

Thank you Howard for the update about Okamoto sensei it makes happy to know he is doing well :)

  • Hi,

Please forgive me. I have said this before. If anyone is interested in Roppokai, please let me know. Some may like it, some don't, but it works. You are welcome to visit anytime. My pleasure. And yes, Toshi-san is a really nice guy !

About Okamoto Sensei, he is doing just fine. Thanks for your concern.

    Howard Popkin

    NY Roppokai

  • I have this video too, but no matter how many times I watch it, I still find it unbelivable. Everything looks staged and pre-arranged. Why do we never see videos of aiki-jujitsu being used on outsiders, but always demo by own students?

  • Okamoto teaches aiki..horikowa was one of few of Sokaku's students who he showed thiese techn too. ueshiba used them but never showed how to do them. Okamoto travels worldwide and go to see him he will do this to u..make sure u can ukemi well though.

  • I believe aikijutsu is a good martial art, and i believe in using body dynamics and momentum to your advantage, but what was that thing at 0:09? Which branch of daito ryu is this, is this sensei affiliated with Katsuyuki Kondo?

  • daito ryu akijiujitsu is the most effective, all-round fighting system i've ever seen, and i practice it myself,

but some of this stuff really looks like a parody.

I dont doubt the concept of aiki at all, but this is just playing warlock or something.

    beyond showing off.

  • Well with Osu you know something....it is a demo all teachers when doing demos do not want the technique to look like crap...every teach I have seen in my 20 years does this for a demo...since he is one of the top peeps in daito I would hope he knows something

Also I have noticed at the very top level the look and concept changes to normal aiki jujitsu

  • Osu! Its obvious he knows something, but its one thing when you go with the technique and another when you act for the technique. Its clear that his actors oh sorry I mean students are acting for and not flowing with his techniques.

  • Yes this is real jutsu ....I know most have never seen it....yes this is real... he is showing examples of the higher level concepts of aiki jujitsu

If you do not have a clue who this is do your homework before commenting

  • Fishstoneqqq the comment you left on here is very unkind,

I hope people like yourself research Okamoto sensei or anyone's pedigree and art history before making comments like that again.

I've been studying this art from videos and there is a lot more to this than meets the eye

So in 2 days I fly to Japan and at one point will be able to uke for Okamoto sensei THEN I WILL KNOW IF HE IS THE REAL DEAL OR NOT,I'm an honest man and when on return shall comment on here from experience not imagination

  • I applaud you for testing before you make your conclusion. I'll be surprised if you are allowed to test the "master". My comments are strong and for that I appologize. But I assure you that I was duped a long time ago into believing this stuff is real. IT IS NOT!!!!!!

  • Sadly I have to say Okamoto sensei has had a stroke he is back in the dojo but is still recovering,

His students did not let me down they are amazing, very gently but very powerful in the end I was thrown by them as if they were giants but I was more than twice there size.

please if anyone has doubts please do not leave unkind comments but do as I have and try it yourself you wont be disappointed.

They have knowledge and skills that can make old useless techniques into frighting ones!

  • Hey hosie,

I've trained there as well this year! Was indeed quite a shock when sensei had a stroke, but I hear he's recovering well.

You've probably been thrown by my friend Toshi the hardest, he rocks! One of the most talented people there (after sensei of course :P).

  • hi rmbeany

Proberily was Toshi who had thrown me as soon as I made contact with him it felt like I had been hit by a car! truly stunning power. It took me a few days to recover!

People really don't realize that this art is that good! and just tar it with the ( IT'S FAKE/CRAP ) brush because they simply don't understand what makes it work.

Sensei is recovering well but is not there yet, but I'm surehe will will be back to top form for my return trip next year!

hope you make it back there too.

  • This is so bad it's laughable. Anybody who thinks this is real needs a lobotomy! What a bunch of Crap!

  • Ray Charles can see that this is a bad example of traditional techniques and hes been dead! For four years now.

  • Is Toru Ohira narrating this video?

  • awesome
