@Mr123magicdude you're not the only 12-year-old that appreciates this stuff. I've been collecting jason voorhees action figures ever since 2 years ago when i was 10
@Mr123magicdude i'm a 12 year old and i respect this stuff to and the reason why they don't beat her up because they don't expect here to come she's sneaks up to kill the person
@coolzone109 Fuck man how can u say the remakes are better than the originals?!! Its people like u that make Hollywood keep ruining classic horror films with gay-ass remakes just 2 milk more money from the public.
@MegaJrod83 how can i not like the original's ? bad graphic's, jason isn't even in the first one enough, the remakes make it look good where-as the old one is kind of cheesy. Look we have diffrent opinions leave it at that I'm done with this I'm not going to fight about a movie.
@weirdscience85 ok.. can't i be a horror fan with an opinion ? if it's a remake then the death scenes would be copied and now maybe people are used to horror where-as back then it was new?
@coolzone109 well this one is really good if u like old school slasher movies, im sure this one doesnt hold up as well to some ppl and doesnt look as improved as the 2009 update but most of the older horror flicks are actually a lot better than a lot of the newer ones.
@Cropsy25 In my opinion the old version isn't worth watching if you have seen the new one maybe i watched them in wrong order but i think the new's are better than old's
I did not find this movie scary at all i saw it and kept laughing at the random faces every one was pullin as they were killed or that damn last chick seriously if it had been me i wouldnt have knocked her down once then ran away so she could come get me again i would hit her a few more times for good measure lol the only part that made me jump was the end cause i thought it was over and suddenly random thing comes out of water lol
Those earlier years was the best especially this one,I,remember the release date June 13 1980.I,was eight years old,we seen Friday The 13th at the Drive-In,one thing I,do remember well that night is that music.Harry Manfredini, great job composing the movie score.
I saw this at the Lowes American theater on Parkchester Avenue in The Bronx on Sunday May 25,1980 as I was approaching my 9th b-day which turned out to be four days later.
There's nothing like the original 1980 version of Friday the 13th (The 2009 remake was pure shit!!!!). The unrated version has additional gory scenes that weren't shown in the theaters.
@MrDrunb the very first Friday The 13th was starring Jason's mother. Jason was still a kid going to Camp Crystal Lake, and after he died, she killed everyone involved. Jason comes back to continue killing visitors at Camp Crystal Lake in every movie after that.
they were only meant to make 1 friday the 13th then they made another and another all the way to part 11 freddy vs jason then they made 1 in 2009 where one camper is looking for jasons sister
Happy 30th anniversary!Released in theatres during the summer of 1980.
Saw this slasher "classic" the first time on vhs video back in 1983 when I was a 4th grade kid and I remember that night, I wasn't able to go to sleep.
I hate how every ones so clean cut in these now-a-day horror flicks, it's like at least through a couple of mediocre looking kids in there,, they be lookin like they came out from the back of a Hollywood clowning lab, every mainstream product for that matter.

The voice in this TV spot was the late-voiceover trailer king: Don LaFontaine, who pointed out that this was his favorite trailer he voiced out of all the thousands throughout his career.
Slasher movie trailers are easy to find, but the old school tv spots (such as this) are pretty rare. Always a treat to watch. The guy who used to narrate a lot of these sounds like a serial killer haha.
You made him drown!... you never paid any attention!!... look what you did to him... look what you DID TO HIM!!! and I thought my mom kicked ass and love me with a passion, jeez, but this one, lol.
my old cousin (45yrs) told me about the 80s n 70s movies , songs , cars , styles , night life , sports , love or romance , brands , humours , schools or studies , food dishes and everything , to me 70s n 80s r the best decades ever , I WISH I WAS BORN IN 80S OR 70S not on 12 - 31 - 1989 :(
the remake was just for edit and blood efects so not a realy a remake more like a ew gor fest well at that time it was today we dont get to see buckets and buckets of blood :(
"You may only see it once! Might be enough!"??? That's not a good business slogan - but it worked anyway. Maybe they should try "Never see this film!!!"
I LOVE this trailer! The TV trailers are the best (so succinct!). I never saw this one, but heard it helped pull people into theaters! (The movie delivered, so they kept coming in!) Thanks for posting this!
