anarchy= closest thing to total freedom, its about community i think we should call it somthing a little less chaotic sounding. we could call it utopia?
This vid makes no sense. Are you talking about nihilism? Or revolution in general? Unless you have an example of this actually happening what are you even talking about?
It sounds similar to the French or Soviet revolutions, throwing the rascals out and all, but this kind of organized rebellion generally has an ideology behind it, not just the lack of an ability to tell "whats right or wrong."
A sociopath doesn't do stuff like this. Your chancellor there could be one though.
In a country that is in an anomic state EVERY radical group could start to randomly rampage. Be it radical-nationalists, radical-anarchists, religious loonies or whatever.
And where did I tell anyone not to post "anti-nazi comments"?
@Druesling What keeps these same groups, called gangs where I come from, from randomly killing and going on the rampage in an anarchist community? The truth is that you only support anarchy because you are a socialist. Libertarianism would be too much work for you, what with having to provide for yourself and not having the government treasury for you to suckle from when you get hungry. Poor socialist. You will learn one day.
@Druesling I forgot to ask, what is the name of the group that always shows up at protests and riots in all black with ski masks and weapons, breaking windows and spray painting private and public property with reckless abandon? Oh yeah, anarchists. How enlightened you all are. I've never seen a Libertarian mob committing violent acts or vandalism.
i have a way to create a revolution!!! i started an anarchist group and we started a revolution in SC but first you need to get all your anarchist friends and band together under an anarchist name and start pulling in pepole and teaching them about anarchy!!! im the leader of A-4-L so id noe!!
How does one go about constructing an anarchist society though? You can't just oust the leaders because, well, they'll do everything in their power to maintain the system. Maybe anomie is a means to true anarchy? Or would civil disobedience be a better route? I believe in anarchism completely, but I don't know how humanity can ever reach it and then hold onto it.
There are many ways of creating an anarchist society. None of them can be achieved simply overnight. A simple Google search will point you in the direction of possible solutions.
unfortunately, many anarchists use violence and destruction such as anomie as a vehicle to reach anarchy, which is of course why the terms get confused so often. but it's because nothing else seems as sure-fire or effective. civil disobedience against is like trying to put out a house fire with spray bottles. Personally, I think the best way to get to an anarchic society is to take advantage of the next social overhaul, such as a revolution. Instead of a new government, no government.
idk i was thinking get the message across to a majority of the US and then have everyone stop paying their taxes, and stop participating in "civil" events. i believe we should just be able to live in anarchy if we choose to without a huge revolution
Well, count me in. But how we can convince 300 million others to do the same is beyond me... (actually, it would be better if it were a world-wide movement, a borderless stand for human civil rights). Problem is, the majority are all sheep. They do what they're told by those in power because 'might makes right'. First, this would need to change. Education, slow and tedious, is the ONLY non-violent method I think could have lasting effect.
@thesayerofing SOOOO TRUE OMFG i really despise the ignorant people that run around screaming anarchy and burning shit down in front of mainstream media and giving us all a bad name :P
Supposing this happens in a real country, people would not become a mob so easy. They would not kill the police, or the army, because they would not be able to do so. They would, for sure, not care anymore, if what they do, is legal or not.
They'd just do anything they want. When a leader is corrupted, so will become the system, including the police.

I Somalia an anarchy or an anomie?
corridorofpower 3 years ago
As I understand it, parts of Somalia are the one, other parts the other, and yet other parts are ruled by warlords, so they would be feudalistic.
But I don't know much about that topic.

So anarchy is simply society without government and anomie is society after a successful rebellious uprising against the government.

er yes but it seems half of the explanation is missing.
It is true that most people think that "anarchy" is what this calls "anomie" but the film doesn't begin to explain how "anarchy" is any different.
kumamotop 4 years ago
The difference is, that you could(*) have anarchy, without having anomie. Anarchy does not mean the absence of any ethical law or social value.
(*)Anarchy is an Utopia, its "application" is possible only in theory.
Kostas10 4 years ago
Why do you think anarchy is an utopia?
I think Kumamotop knows exactly what anarchy is and what anomie is.
CorbeauBlanc 4 years ago
Because anarchy would lead to anomie.
