Maybe but still for the price good investment, its kind of a hybrid with the targets on the front and the pods on the back. I don't think its going back, if I remember the stuff we had 15 or 20 years ago this is light years ahead of that stuff.

No electronics on the front, targets are all magnesium, very tough. Rear pods not field repairable, straight exchange for 3 to 5 yrs. pods are also all magnesium very durable. Yes the full three dimensioning units are better but twice the price. Still for the price awesome units.

Looks like we are going back to the old way. Compensate the wheels, install expensive parts on the wheels, and then drop and break them. Mounting a camera on the wheel sounds crazy. How much to fix that?
