Michael Beckwith comments on Forgiveness Workshop

Forgiveness is a very difficult concept to grasp, and I'm still trying to come to terms with it. How on God's green earth can I forgive people who did horrible wrongs to me and my family? What if these people are still unrepentant for the atrocities they committed? Why should I bother extending an olive branch to people who are so inherently awful and who will hurt me at every opportunity? I struggle every day to find answers to these questions.

@6672rock Forgiveness is not excusing the wrong. It is simply giving up the hope that the past could have or should have been any different. Release the energy. Separate what the person did from who they are as as perfect child of God and most of all... forgive yourself.
