  • THE ACR SHOULD BE ADDOPTED BY THE ARMY, AIRFORCE AND MARINE RIFLEMAN. THE SPEC OP FORCES USE THE SCAR. NOT SURE IF THE SCAR CAN BE CONVERTED TO AK AMMO? I WONDER WHAT KIND OF BALLISTICS THE AK ROUND HAS COMING OUT THAT BARREL? THE STANDARD LOAD OUT WOULD BE STANDARD NATO, WITH A BACK UP AK BARREL WHEN NATO AMMO RUNS OUT. THAT WAY YOU GET HIGH PRECISION, AND THEN AO LONG DURATION SURVIVABILITY WHEN YOUR NATO AMMO RUNS OUT AND YOU LIVE OFF THE LAND. DEAD ENEMY AMMO. PLUS GREAT CAMMO 4 SPEC OPS

  • Amen to that last comment about using the enemy ammo!

  • i love everything about this rifle with the exception of the fire selector switch i hope they come out with new ones soon /:

  • 0:57 let's build the AK.... WHAT THE HELL?!

  • :( looks expensive

  • Actually - what Mac meant was that some units do not want to leave NATO shell casings all over their objective.

  • only if it had the quality of the SCAR by FNH. Not at all impressed with Remington's or any company in that groups quality lately. Especially all the bad m21 bolt guns or the 700 that supplied snipers of our arm that record the guns going off by just tapping the gun or just simply putting pressure on the safety when its on. The days of the 1903 are gone and FNH now makes the majority of the m4 and A3 weapons produced for a reason. So no big one when the SF choose the new SCAR.

  • I'm getting a strong feeling that the uploader doesn't like Mac that much, lol.

  • This is like legos for adults XD

  • chris costa looks like Gordan Freeman

  • Cool design, but the civvie one is relatively heavy as &^%&. Rented one at my local range and was displeased with that factor.

  • HyP3rxMiTchXx0 wrote: the M4 and the ACR are two totaly different weapons. the only parts that the bushmaster uses that the m4 used is the :safty system, frount post sight, and trigger assembaly. The military would love this weapon but evey sigle person in active duty would have to be re trained on this weapon. The M-16A5 will still look like the A1(same as A2 A3 and A4). it should change to look like this weapon.

  • Maybe for a PMC or special groups, but how much cost this weapon ?

  • What the fuck with that blond wig ? XD

  • 1:43 lol gun safety fail. You could see the host almost flinch at having the gun barrel pointed at his face.

  • yea but on a large scale you probably would find enough ammo to resupply an entire platoon of marine with enemy rounds and if u did they would have to carry both friendly and forgien barrel parts and recievers this is why the ACR is a good spec ops weapon but not a mass produced combat rifle

  • I wanna see Costa and Mac arm wrestle.

  • @Soky270 Christ Costa could beat Mac arm wrestling with one arm tied behind his back! :P

  • I have an AK74-U and a M416 And I have ordered from my gun guy a ACR Bushmaster I shot one over seas as a part of the SEAL team and I must say this gun is possibly the best gun ever made.

  • How many of you jock carriers know that costa was nothing more than a puddle pirate w/ "0" combat experience! A coastie selling girl scout cookies. If the Grand master Kyle Lamb was selling it,it would be worth my time,But I can't jump in line with the rest of the "gee,I have a crush on Chris and will carry his jock any day" crowd.

Even Larry Vickers or any other fellow combat vet,but not a propped up corporate karaoke queen.

  • so you say i can use a 7.62 x 39 mm round with the ACR?

  • I am confused, I´ve seem the ACR manufactured by Bushmaster,Remington and Magpul . Or is it that it is manufactured by all of them.

  • @scgiga Magpul made the Musada (Prototype) then gave the license to Bushmaster (Civilian semi-auto version) and Remington (Military selective fire semi-auto or full-auto) who made the ACR which was basically the same gun just with charging handle farther forward due to military feedback.

  • @InfuriatedHawk i wanted to ask you something since you said u shot the rifle before.... i heard if you have a scope on n if you change the barrel of the acr you need to re zero the scope... is this true??

  • really, a piston AR. totally defeats the purpose of the AR. The direct Gas impingement system HAS no problem. all you have to do is lube and clean it and it performs better than anythin else on the market in terms of assault rifles.

  • If I ever ran out of ammo, I would pick up a real AK-47 and drop the M-16.

  • ahem, i dont mean to sound like a vg nerd but doesnt it sound like the halo 1 assault rifle at 1:42

  • costa looks like a kid in this vid... lol. Miss that guy.

  • 7.62x39 is shit. Not enough energy fo the recoil it generates. Rather go with the 7,62x51

  • @andromedarr When the US faces an enemy employing 7.62x51, your preference will become relevant to the topic. The advantages offered are unrelated to caliber performance. Advantage one - scavenge enemy ammo. Advantage two - no evidence of foreign shell casings left behind.

  • yes the Masada is a great weapon but it will not be replacing M16 . You have to look at this from the military standpoint, ACR is better but it is also not cost effective. The military buys M16's and M4's for $100 a piece from FN (not colt they lost the contract) They have to look at what happens when America is engaged in a true war. The military life expectancy for a infantry men in Force on Force urban combat is 2 1/2 mins (not kidding). The ACR will be used but it will not be replacing M16

  • having a black rifle is better sometimes. at night time a tan weapon will stick out a lot more than a black rifle. but in day time its vise-versa. so using a black gun with cammo uniform isnt always so bad

  • @LiloHart Not necessarily. Black sticks out at night. Imagine being pressed against a white wall while wearing all white. It'll be difficult to see you at day AND night time. Because when it's dark, your camo also darkens. Your camo doesn't stay all bright like it's daytime.

  • no orange tip? haha jk jk.

  • dynmicpara RIGHT ON BRO! victory and survival is to the person with the most ammo & that can adapt to almost anything. m16A5= victory.

  • Chris Costa rocks!!!!!!

  • take that you AK bastards the ak sucks

  • When I imagine 0:23, I imagine him aiming at an ememy, asking him/her to wait, changing the barrel, and shooting him/her.

  • it all sounds perfect... short stroke piston, modular build, ambidextrous fire control... yet I have heard of two major flaws, one being the placement of the thumb safety in uncomfortable on the shooting hand as it is quite low on the lower receiver.. and the other is that there is a 3/4cm gap just below the bolt carrier inside the ejection port. wide enough so you can see a loaded magazine through... this in my opinion is a port through which foreign objects and dirt can enter.

  • Modular rifles are a bad idea because a new barrel or scope needs to be zeroed before it can be used. Modular attachments like a grenade lanucher or shotgun are a different matter only because those are area effect weapons.

  • Maybe, maybe not. We used to zero more than one barrel for the M249 LMG to have different BZOs. We need a modular M16A5, PERIOD.

  • @dynmicpara Yeah, pretty much what you said

  • @Gammaclipper arrels for the ACR makes it so you dont have to zero them, the only change is the range you'll get. the optics arent being touched in the swap, so thats not an issue. also, the M16 is extremely modular, change out the upper and you can fire 7.62x39, 6.8, 5.56, whatever. plus, if you change out the upper you can have different optics which elimiate the zeroing issue. all that needs to be changed on the M16 is the charging handle and DI system. thats it.

  • @Gammaclipper - absolutely, you need to zero after any modular change to barrel, trigger group or sights, but I imagine that changes in the field - i.e. mid-mission - would be rare. Modularity provides the versatility that modern forces need IMHO.

  • @Gammaclipper Modular rifles are a great Idea. There are many times where 5.56 nato is not an ideal round, and operators need a good, reliable platform that can use the caliber that the operator wants, wether it be 7.62 nato, 7.62x 39, or 6.8 specialist. Zeroing in is not a hard task to accomplish, taking about five rounds, which can be done at a base prior to the mission.

  • Cool video there!

The U.S. military should adopt the Remington ACR as their M4 / M16 replacement. Trust me, they would like it.

  • You Da'Man for showing this to me! I salute you!

  • @ironfalcon100 the remington acr IS just a Magpul ACR. Yes it is a great weapon that is very versatile and is made with the same polymer as their p-mags. The weapon can be switched between left and right hand shooters in a couple quick steps. when the folding grip is folded its angled downward so it doesnt effect the brass ejection.

  • @ironfalcon100 and by its looks,it seems to fit the future soldier gear.

  • @ironfalcon100

In November 2004, FNH was awarded the contract by USSOCOM for its SCAR submission after passing the Go/No-Go criteria required by the solicitation and being selected by a source selection board composed of senior operators from every SOF component. The Full-Rate Production Decision Review by the Milestone Decision Authority occurred on July 30, 2010.

  • @ironfalcon100 The ACR kinda fell flat on it's face when it came out, though.

  • Cool video, dynmicpara!

  • oh, I'm sure we'll have this...in about 50 years.

  • it comes out in october of this year for civilains but it is a semi auto version

  • Nice weapon, pity it doesn't just take AK mags......but by the time you need their ammo there should be AKs laying around you could just pick up and shoot rather than removing the rounds to put in your ACR magazine.

    Future Weapon FTW!

  • ...well yea, can change it to 7.62, if you are going to carry an extra barrel and receiver... also, I'd just use a Robinson Arms.

  • The only thing missing from this rifle is a Bayonet Lug --- you have to have this in any service rifle, because an AK-47 within bayonet range is a MUCH more lethal weapon than a rifle without a bayonet.

A lot of bloggers seem to have come to a similar conclusion on several forums.

Other than the lack of a bayonet, the Masada has it all; strong polymer furniture (as opposed to the M4's injection-molded plastic), a gas piston, 7.62mm capability, easy field stripping, and a much sturdier stock.

  • Ohohohooooo, this is nice. Use the enemy's ammo without sacrificing your familiarity and decreasing your performance. S.T. Coleridge would say, "Rounds, rounds everywhere, nor any that will fit."

Worry not, good sir, for ye shall no longer run dry.

  • How is this weapon all that different from the Robinson Armament XCR?

  • Better looking as the Magpul than the Bushmaster, but calling it the Masada is a bit strange for a non-Israeli company, especially when the weapon will be primarily used by descendants of the Romans. For the company to state that they find the story of Defiance at Masada inspiring suggests that Islam assumes the role of the Romans, which just doesn't line up.

We might say that Islam has the numbers to surround us, but it is the West who is as systematic as the Romans.

  • excellent system, wish I had one...I'd like to see the 6.5 Grendel used more also

  • The thing I like about the Masada is the piston, the forward non-reciprocating charging handle (charging handle position on a M16 blows), the ambidextrous controls, and the folding stock. I think they have a 6.5mm grendel model as well, which imo is a good choice for replacing the 5.56.

  • @ToobeYoo it took them years to replace the NATO 7.62x51 with the 5.56, so i dont think the grendel will go standard issue any time soon. special forces might adopt it, though.

  • Magpul should bring on the Massoud too. Too bad about the FN SCAR though, the Masada is far easier to dissasemble; probably the biggest difference in the performance stand point. Though I guess since the SCAR is modular also, FN could easily modify some parts and make them drop in, and then the FN SCAR would be just as easy.
