i believe anything you add to the water changes the gases chemical properties on the output so it no longer puts out just hydrogen and oxygen the lye is now put into the mix and will change your output gas to what chemical i don't know but it cant be as clean as without it but it makes it more conductive
hydrogen being produced at 24 volts, 7 neutral plates , 8 spaces divide voltage, close to three volts per space depending on gap , amps were 4.25 and I will show that with a meter on a future video , just over 100 watts of power used , plate size 3 and 1/4 x 4 and 1/4 inches , one positive wire, one negative wire , with a moderate amount of lye in water from my dehumidifier (more) (less)

I appears that adding the lye is giving good results producing gas. What is the down side, if any, using the lye?

Do you only use the the outside plates with power or +-+-+-?
