  • how many hp?

  • @macdrinay At the time of this video, It had ~225rwhp. It is not making around ~250whp and I plan to go turbo and a lot more power before too long.

  • Amazing. I want a 4.6 iFORCE for my 88 4runner, it would be a hell of a job getting it to fit though... so Id probably go with a 1uz-fe VVTi. lol

  • That is very nice!!!! How much is your whole set up? I would love to that on my 01 4runner. Thanks!

  • @neil070204 At the time of the video with the 7th injector and the used supercharger I had around $2500 in it but I got a very good deal on the supercharger. Normally you are looking at ~$4k for this setup new.

  • Were could I.get a supercharger like that on my 2001 4runner

  • @droccs12345 Ebay is a good place to start, Craigslist and places like yotatech and customtacos are some more.

  • Damn that bitch sounds mean

  • whats the difference between open headers and not open headers? just sound performance or what does it basically come down to? thanks

  • @silverdiaz7 In the case of this video It was the first start so i had not been able to go to the exhaust shop to have the flange for the rest of the system welded on.

Far as what open headers are, they are simply headers with no exhaust attached to them. Which means very very loud.

  • @TexasAceAA oh ok cool, truck sounds cool by the way thanks! i have an 07tundra 4.0 where would i be able to find a supercharger for my truck? i have a cai exhaust plus jbs headers thats it =[

i want more horsepower better acceleration and simply faster what do you recommend?

  • @silverdiaz7 You can get them from TRD/Toyota but check out ebay as well, that is where most of the good deals are. Also search yotatech and Customtacots, they have good deals as well from time to time.

Supercharger is the way to go, nothing else comes close. add some meth injection on top for a real kick.

  • @TexasAceAA meth injection? whats that and where does that go and avr. price? and im very thankful for your help bro seriously!

  • @silverdiaz7 Check out my other videos, i have LOTS of info on meth injection in them.

  • @silverdiaz7 water methanol injection, from what i read on super street, and old hot rod trick, perfected by japanese tuning companys, injects and mixture of water methanol injection, in the combustion chamber, the water evaporates, and soakes heat to keep the engine cool, and once atomized, the oxygen helps the hydrogen and methanol and fuel burn hotter, and since it takes up room in the combustion chamer, it boosts compresion for even MORE POWER! >:D

  • @silverdiaz7 why would u buy a v6 tundra then get an s/c. the 5.7 gets better mileage with much more power. u saved less money buying a v6 and buying an s/c than buying a 5.7 tundra. Sorry if i sound like a dick.

  • how much does a supercharger cost?

  • @sk863cuz Depends on a lot of options, to get a running supercharged truck can be anywhere from $1500 buying good deals on used stuff to $5000+ buying all new stuff.

  • awww yeah...that sounds nice..

  • @drgoodspd Thanks, open headers really did sound like a big V8, it was SOO sexy, just way too loud sadly.

  • Sweet!

  • sounds good man i have a 2006 4runner do you know if they make any superchargers for that year

  • @grimmydude101 Depends on the motor not the year, they make/made superchargers for all of them. Although 1 of the V8's they stopped making it due to weak rods in the motor.

  • @TexasAceAA Yeah, the 2UZFE had wimpy rods, the Lexus 1UZ 4.0 had thicker beams, that installed right in the later 4.7 This is an essential upgrade in my opinion.

  • @FJoeForty So the 1UZ rods drop right into the 2uz with no mods at all?

I know a guy with a supercharged 2uz, i will have to let him know about that.

  • @grimmydude101 not the 4.7, but they do for the 4 litre.

  • Dang. U gotta help me with my tacoma

  • @daved2008 Yotatech has lots of info on toyota trucks, my build threads are there along with lots of help.

  • IS THIS 4runner FAST???? PLEASE TELL ME

  • @spainobain1234 Fast is VERY subjective, what do you consider fast?

I don't consider my 11 second MR2 "fast", quick maybe but not fast.

The 4runner can hold it's own vs 95% of other stock cars on the road though. It is capable of running a 14 second 1/4 mile if i get the issues sorted out and new roots for the supercharger.

So is it fast? faster then most cars but by no means is it fast IMO.

  • What supercharger kit is that and what headers are those? That is sick!

  • @starabovemybedGJ13 1st gen TRD supercharger and Doug Thorly headers.

Mod list is in the description.

  • wtf dont ever run the rig without airfilter

  • @pandaonweed LOL, trust me it ain't gonna hurt it for a few mins. I know guys that runs cars for years without them and they are fine, a few mins aint going to have even the slightest effect on it.

  • I like that wood grain dash, very nice!

  • @Motorfordtoyota LOL, factory finish for the limited models. I actually prefer the black trim personally but the wood has grown on me over time.

  • @TexasAceAA Yeah, I just like it, Ill have to save up some money and get one! Ha, I guess my 88 will do for now!

  • @Motorfordtoyota 1st gens are great trucks, i want an 84 someday.

2nd gens are the odd one out.

  • nice dude, nice! :)

  • Very nice!! That 3.4 sounds awesome, very beefy.

  • how much cash did u invest on the charger headers intake and wires? i really want those wires!

  • Total i spent on this setup was around $2500 or so IIRC but i spent months tracking down deals. Expect to pay twice that if you buy new.

The wires are just wire loom i got off the internet. It is dirt cheap.

  • awsome!!! ill shop around! did u have to do anything to adjust the injecters to blend in the the air of the charger? i defenetly wana do the trd supercharger and headers

  • The URD 7th injector kit comes with some ok base maps, only need a little fine tuning to makei it work.

  • i take it you replace the 7th injecter thats ment for morning runs and put that one on rite? but instead of shuting off in gives it more fuel to blend the fuel and air mixture...

  • No, the 7th injector kit is a kit from URD, search google for it. It adds an extra injector vs having to change all of the ones you have already. It is cheap, easier and better then changing all the stock injectors. The kit comes withe everything you need to use the SC right ans safly.

  • would i have to drill a hole to add it or where dos it go?

  • It bolts onto the supercharger, there is a port on it for it.

  • oh!!! nice i wouldnt have thought of that! so do the stock trucks with trd supercharger have em too? u seem to know alot here ill keep u in mind when i have questions if thats cool with you

  • The stock trucks don't have the extra injestor or anything else. Just the supercharger bolted to the engine. It works but they DO run lean which over time can cause damage and will not give you as much power.

  • so aftermarket with 7th injecter is the way to go then

  • Yep, and with the 7th you can safly run a 2.2 pulley for more boost/power as well.

Go to Yotatech, post a thread and you will get all the info you want. I have a build thread there of this truck as well.

  • awsome! last time i went there it saed under construction or whatever... anyways how much hp did it boost on it? friend told me he knew a guy that did it to a solora but barely felt a diference

  • Oh, you feela differnce if done right, it puts down ~165rwhp stock and my truck now puts down 230rwhp with issues, easily 250rwhp with everything working as it should.

  • i65? i read it puts out 183 or so stock... up to 250 would be nice though! thats all u did then? suoercharger injection kit headers and intake filter kit? seems prety good and simple, thought id have to gut out the engine if i wanted more power

  • It is rated at around 200hp at the CRANK from the factory but makes about 165rwhp at the wheels stock.

And pretty much that is all i did, a few other little things, search for Texas_Ace on Yotatech, i have the build fully documented.

Also, i found out later that i made MORE power with the stock intake vs that short ram in the video.

  • wow thats awsome! show ill keep my stock intake haha lol... all ive done is replace the filter with a k&n filter

  • @TexasAceAA so dude oferd me a stocl supercharger!!! ahhh! so tempting! how much was ure aftermarket with the 7th injecter?

  • I am using a stock supercharger, everyone i know of with a 4runner is. It is the supporting mods that are not stock.

I got a real good deal on my supercharger, but expect to spend between $1000 - $200 just for the supercharger then another ~$1500 on supporting mods unless you get some real good deals.

  • @TexasAceAA awsome thanks for the info, i think im gona keep it as is for now while i do my suspencion and exhaust... i also really need to get my old truck running in good shape before i put more money on my 4runner

  • @TexasAceAA

What are the issues you speak of? I see you have URD's 7th injector kit which is the way to go so what other issues are you having? I'm curious because I'm looking to go this route myself.

  • There were a few of them, my Supercharger roots need to be replaced, intake was using a 5 year old filter, little things like that.

  • first off that made me happy just me happy second off

is it hard to install and what all comes with the kit

  • Well glad it made you happy.

The headers were by far the hardest part to install, i don't recomend them unless you REALLY REALLY know what you are doing.

The rest took me about a day or 2 to install.

Not sure what kit you speak of, The Supercharger comes with the stuff to install it, the URD 7th injector is seprate. Between the 2 of those though you have everything you need to install it.

  • this is an Eaton M62 supercharger?

How many psi load, which is the size of Damper pulley?

  • It is the 1st gen TRD supercharger which uses the M62 as the base for it yes.

I am running the stock pulley, i get about 5psi of boost but my roots are bad so it is low, it should be about 7psi or so stock pulley and 10psi with a 2.2.

  • this is awsome!! Im 16 too and I have an 98' but i don't know what to do with it. If anything I'd expect it to be like yours but what are the requirements?

  • The requirements are about $4000++ and a few weeks worth of time.

Honestly, for that price go get a sports car to enjoy. Unless you tow a lot like me then the extra power is quite nice.

  • Thanks...Im thinking of buying a kit like yours and taking it to my Vo Tech class so they can install it.

  • nice blue things or whatever you call it in the engine and did you get it all in one or seperate??

  • You talking about the vacume lines? I got a silicone vacume line kit off the internet. Comes with standard hose and you cut to fit.

The plug wires are just NGK wires i got off ebay.

  • Home install? Nice job sounds like uhh sex

  • Yep, why would it not be a home install? the install is a piece of cake, the only semi hard part is the tuning after the install, but the base maps are pretty good and it only takes a little adjustment to get it dialed in.

  • How much are you boosting?

  • I still have the stock pulley on it which is about 6psi. I need to get the roots in the supercharger replaced then i will run a smaller pulley and run about 10psi.

  • Because unless Toyota installs it your warranty is voided

  • And no 3rd gen 4runner still has a factory warantee so who cares?

  • SICK you better make sure that tube you used for the intake dosnt melt

  • Tube for the intake? You mean the aluminim intake? Doubt that will be melting, i am actually using the factory intake now as when on the dyno i found it to make more power then the short ram intake.

  • lol i must have been faded it looked clear lol ...im putting the new 4.0l on my 04'

  • I drove a new runner the other day with one of those. thing was slow as snot compared to my truck (i expected them to be simular). Now if you were to put a supercharger ont he 4.0, THEN you would have a power monster!

  • that thing sounds sooo sick!

i am 16 and really love the looks and possibilities of a 2000-2002 SR5 sport, i was going to work these next couple of summers to see if i could get my hands on one, you seem to know a lot and i was wondering if you had any suggestions of what year and everything i should look at. Thanks! once again, hell of an engine in that thing!

  • Well anything 1998 - 2002 will get you fine, just make sure you get the 3.4l V6 and 4wd. After that you have an open book.

First drive it around and see what you want to do. To get the engine mods i have would cost most people $4000++ and that is doing all the work yourself. If you have someone else do it expect to pay $6000++ to get it to this point.

I still have a lot left to do to it as well.

Overall, the 3rd gen 4runner is a GREAT base car, get it and be happy!

  • hell u would be happy with a 96. the only differencce is features and some exterior changes but everything is the same. Frame, engine tranny, axle. everything.

  • True, anything 96+ is great if that is all you can afford. I just prefer some of the feature on the 2000+ limiteds.

  • dude that is fucking awesome! more vids!

  • I plan to take some more, a nice burnout just befoe i get new tires maybe?

  • Yeah hope to see some more. that is badass. how about taking it out onthe trails..:) I used to have a 99 then i wrecked it and now i have a 01 pathfinder. check out my vids sometime.

  • It has been off road a few times, it does great out there and it is still on stock tires/suspension!

  • Which headers did you use on this rig? I am building up my Runner for Off-road racing and am looking around for the best headers. Also the 7th injector kit was an excellent choice. This SC looks to be the 1st generation. I am interested to see if you experienced any pinging a high gear low revs. The truck sounds badass man, must be a joy to drive.

  • I used doug thorley headers as it said in the info. So far i have not had any problems after 6 months.

This is a 1st gen SC, i have not had any problems with ping at all with this setup. the SC works fine and builds boost great. If you get a good deal like me on a 1st gen, don't turn it down. You can have it rebuilt for about $300.

  • It is VERY fun to drive, the tourqe is AMAZING! not race car fast (I have an MR2 for that) but it will still beat most cars from a red light. I have not even installed the 2.2 pulley yet, once i get that installed i will have another 20 - 30hp then i am going to get some Meth injection for another ~20hp and that should put me real close to 275rwhp with an auto tranny!

  • what MR2? the 2.2? i've got a 97 Celica GT AND a 97 4Runner...love them both!

  • @drgoodspd Check out my other videos, i got a lot of the MR2 and will have more in the coming weeks.

It is a 93 Turbo with a 3rd gen swap and a turbo upgrade making 330rwhp at least dyno and hoping to go to the dyno again next week and put down 400+

  • holy shit!

  • pretty cool, how much boost? Hows your AFR at WOT? leave a comment on my vids, thanks.

  • In this video I had not yet figured it out but it was running about 6psi. I now have a smaller pulley and am running closer to 9psi.

AFR's still need some tuning but that are stiiing in the high 10's/low 11's. I need to lean it out a little until it gets right around 11.8 as that is where max power is made.

  • hey how much did the supercharger cost? im thinking bout puting one on my 2002 4runner

  • Well i searched for months and got a real good deal, i paid $300 for the actual SC but by the time you add in all the other stuff to make it work right, my grand total was just under $2000.

That is about half what most people spend but i looked far and wide for deals and put the parts together over a whole year.

  • well on the new trucks it will cost a LOT more, the superchargers for them are $3000 - $5000 just for the supercharger. then you have the extras to get the most out of it.

BUT the power you can get out of the newer trucks is a LOT more. The V8 can even have a supercharger, THAT is a MONSTER! but will cost you a pretty penny.

  • That is seriously awesome. What was the general cost of all that?

  • Total cost for everything as it sits now (with the URD 7th injector kit and other goodies you don't see in this video) is right around $2000. But I got real good deals for pretty much everything. Normal cost of an install like this is at least $3000 to $4000. But the extra power is worth it!

  • Awesome. Thats not too bad for someone like me in the military. I ask because I intend to lease an 09 Tacoma Double Cab, and wanted it to look and sound beefy as shit. Thank you.
