god i miss jani lane. i kept up w/ him through the years because he was an amazing beautiful song writer and i do believe the person he was had to have come out of music so powerful.all these blogs about his death,&people not helping him .some have demons and they leave this life according to a different plan.why don't we celebrate what he gave us here on earth?listen to these lyrics for cryin out loud. jani, (john) you were/are amazing.rest very very peacefully, no more fights w/ your demons.
hey I appreciate all the jani rip's, but how bout a nod, or a thank you to foxrecon19d.... first for the upload, but WAY more importantly his service!!! i miss jani like alot of others but this poor guy got a dear john letter while duckin bullets!!! I would thank him for what he has done ahead of any jani lane comment.
jani was one of the best heavy metal ("Hairband") singers and an amazingly talented songwriter. i almost wrote him on his blog about a month ago just to say i appreciated all he had written over the years. i was saddened to hear that i waited to long. (to write him) blessings to you in Heaven, jani. *mel
I don't care what anyone thinks, This is a GREAT song writtin by Jani about something very personal, and that's what makes it great !! who cares bout trends and all that other Bullshit, R.I.P. Jani . We are goin to Miss you !!!
Man, you've created some of the best songs and have one of the greatest voices of Rock N' Roll. Will be missed so much for the ones that know music and your work. Love from Brazil
this is NOT trying to keep with the trends of that year....this is as FAR from 1995 as you could get....this is like Peter Gabrial's 1988 sound meets Extreme's ONE hit. I think this is Lane showing that he doesn't care what the industry thought of it...its a sign of strength...or stupidity.
anyone got an idea of some of the chords? I know it's A, Fsharpminor, E maj, d maj, etc... I can't work out the bridge though and the end of the chorus.. I wanna record it as a tribute
The one thing about songs like Stronger Now,I Saw Red,The Bitter Pill or Let It Rain is you can feel what Jani is going through when he write songs like this. The best written songs always come from what you're feeling inside.
Good to hear again this beutiful ballad song from jani. It reminds me playing russian roulette 5 years ago when i found out my wife was cheating on me with my friend.
It makes me stronger Now when the bullet get stuck in my head and put me in a coma for a year. So folks that's how Warrant reminds me. Welcome to the club Jani.By the way my wife used to fantasize you!
Great song. I'm not sure I agree with the sentiment of this video.
It's been a couple of years since you uploaded this. So do you still feel the same way? That you'll never forget her? Has time put more perspective on it? I'm curious.
There is DEFINITELY an official video... I have it on VHS but can't find it ANYWHERE on the web! It's Jani & the new (at the time) guitarist sitting in a diner wearing trenchcoats & hats with a girl twirling around in slow motion... Seems to be the ONLY real video they did that's not on the internet...
this is a way everyone has to follow...we learn through experience..when we break up with a gf/bf that we thought she/he was the only one for our life, we think that everything would go wrong from now on and that we cant go on..but that's not true..we all can go through every sadness life can bring..and imo this is the second most painfull thing a human can experience..but we can make it through somehow :) and we get so much stronger after it..good luck to everyone..
This song helped me get away from a terrible relationship. It's just sad that more people haven't heard it. The lyrics are perfect for a situation where you think the one in front of you is the only one for you, but yet you know it will never work. Breaking up with someone like that is never easy but it makes you a stronger person in the end. Great song! And a great video too! Very nicely done!!
@jmitchell67060 There are 2 situations that this song helped get me through. One of them was the death of my father; (Although, he DID "love me back!") The other one, was the end of the relationship with my ex-fiance. Jani Lane wrote some very inspirational lyrics here:
"It's right to set it free, hurts to watch it fly away"
Those words are picture perfect for all our broken hearts. In the end, of course, we do feel stronger for our loss. This song captures that wisdom completely.
No. I think Jani is through with Warrant (ref. VH1 Where Are They Now?). He has a new single album out called All The Way Down to One. It's pretty good. The new Warrant has a video out on youtube. It tries to bring back the hair metal days, but I don't think it succeeded very well.
Have you heard the 'new' Warrant? I have the CD, but haven't heard it yet. Kind of ironic that Jani Lane really hates the song that he wrote that put Warrant on the map. He wrote the best ballads. When my wife told me that she was sleeping with someone else one month before I was to return from overseas, I made a video with Warrant's I Saw Red.
Yeah...D.E.D. was one of the better ones. I did not like Belly-To-Belly. It came out when other hair bands like Dokken, Stephen Pearcy from Ratt, and Queensryche, tried to change their musical styles to match the current musical trend of the time(mid 1990's). Naturally, the new sound albums pretty much blew. Only George Lynch, who combined industrial rap, grunge, and metal seemed to find some success with Smoke This.
I agree. Unfortunately, the song came out when 'hair metal' was no longer cool. Heck, even G'n R' aren't getting any airplay and it was 12 years since their last album.

Jani Lane's solo album is called "Back Down To One" and it's a great pop hard rock album. "Twlight" and "Funny" are the best songs on his solo album.
If you have not heard "Face" off Warrant's "Under the Influence" album, it's a must hear. Great song writen with Keri Kelli, the great guitar player.
