they're definitely not higher than they ever have been. There was nothing going on in 2008 to cause the prices but manipulation of speculation. There has been an oil spill, pipeline disruptions, qaddafi, OPEC pushing for higher prices. I enjoy reading your ignorant response 2 years later filled with racist comments. Here in Nashville TN and surrounding areas most gas stations are out of gas. Many have been out for 2 weeks, the few that do have gas have lines as long as McDonald's Breakfast Drive Thrus (to make a fair comparasion). Is this only happening here? I cant find any videos or info on the internet. The reason for this I've been told "The Hurricane: The south american oil rigs were out of commission bla bla bla" ARE YOU FUCKING KIDDING ME?

I saw gas at 2.99 in the late fall of 2007 in New Hampshire, the lowest gas in America at the time, I'm assuming.... Everywhere else was in the $3.20s-40s. Times were good then, hahahaha!

I didnt start paying attention to gas prices until 2000 when we had that spike to around 1.80, then a month or two later it droped to like 1.10. the cheapest i remember gas was the same year - 87.9 cents a gal. and that gas station was having there "going out of business sale" (it was a Super K gas station)

Wow I remember last summer when it was really coming down. I thought I might acctually see it 1.99 somewhere! But I didn't. Last year it was in the 2 dollar range and it was going down a little every day. I remember seeing an AM-PM store at only $2.05. Now in my city gas is 4.39 at places with decent gas. Places with crappy gas are at 4.25

When I was young I bought gas at $.35/gal. and I experienced that as a stretch. Our grandchildren and theirs etc. will look back and wonder what we were complaining about at $4.00 or $10.00. They will note the year we stopped whining and got on with doing what we needed to do for ourselves and for them.
