@xS14Y3Rx No. Just have to die in combat. It's the act of valor that sends a fighter to Valhalla, not the weapon used. Norse (viking is a verb by the way) would use crossbows, longbows, throwing axes and spears...all ranged weapons, and it was considered honorable.
