  • It looks great, but how much is it (gulp)? I use E-Z track, I wanted to use no-balast track but it's too late now.

  • Fantastic job with the Kato track, you really made it look well. Its really the way to go with N scale. Good luck to anyone using flextrack especially if going with dcc.

  • @1229mmr

    Thanks so Much .

    Mike

  • my dad bought me the kato super chief set when it came out, its an awesome set

  • Outstanding !!! I love the high levels and the step down. I rode this train as a kid.

    Mike

  • Outstanding.

  • I love the layout, but I must say that I actually don't like that Kato Unitrack is becoming more popular. Yes, it is good to use, but it kinda takes the fun out of building the railroad yourself, no flex-track, no cork roadbed, and the ballast color is already chosen, so no personality in that. I am going to make an n scale layout with atlas code 55 (is that a good idea mike?) I have used kato unitrack on a layout and don't find it to be very realistic.

  • I agree But I wanted super reliability and to use a product I sell alot of. Atlas 55 is great track but the flex has been really hard to get.

  • @markbuell99 100% agreed. I will be using Flex track when i build my layout. I wouldn't use unitrack for anything more than a toy for a kid that's into trains. For building a layout Unitrack takes all of the creativity out of track plans in the way that you can't shape turns as uniquely, but, of course, I'm just stating the obvious.

@Video, very nice train you have there. A bit off topic (Again) but, any idea were i can get a Amtrak Superliner set? Been looking for them for ages.

  • I can't wait to start modeling my little railway. But first, I need to clear the space. But, I have a question, how sharp can N scale track curves be? I ask because Turn space is limited.

  • About 9 inch but always use the biggest you can (as a rule).

    Thanks , Mike

  • @mrfifer Thank you sir!

  • Not a problem. Please feel free to call the shop

  • @mrfifer

Well, I do plan on ordering some MOW equipment from the shop. I just need to wait a few days. Anyway, thanks again.

  • how do you afford all of that?

  • Owning a Hobby Shop helps.

    Thanks , Mike

  • I buy a lot of stuff from Fifer....great service and store.

  • I love watching that train run.I think that trians are the hobby that calms you down the most.Does the loco and cars have lights on it?

  • I agree 100% . Only the lead loco and tail car have lights right now.

    Thanks , Mike

  • WOW!!! That train looks so cool. Looks like you've done some new stuff to the layout. How about an update video?

  • I would love to do an update but I simply have no time , this time of year.

    Have a great Christmas

    Mike

  • ya they have look really good iv never seen them running before, they look awesome especially on your layout, mainly because you layout is in the era when that train was is full service (i think correct me if im wrong)

have a merry christmas Mike hope its a good one

  • Thanks Tholic , I simply love the train and for me it is memories!

    Have a great Christmas

    Mike

  • I just love the way it flows from car to car.

  • That is what I always loved about this train , and I rode it as a kid.

    Thanks , Mike

  • Kato really makes nice equipment! Merry Xmas!

  • Thanks Josh, Mike

  • Nice. Does it need the 4 unit lash up to pull the train?

  • No not on my layout as I only have a 1.5 % grade . Also they pull very easy.

    Thanks , Mike
