  • Darrell Abbot was a beast. To run parallels of heavy music's evolution to US political history, he was heavy metal's Kennedy. He pushed the envelope in tone, harmony, and aggression at a time when everyone was looking at the floor. His distorted spell of past and present, always an eye on technology, had a profound affect on a generation of guitar players. The 60's had Hendrix, the 70's Blackmore and then Van Halen, 80's had Hetfield (boohoo- he changed the game with his picking) 90's had Dime.

  • ..wow...for 84 this is kinda par for the course...progression says it all...

  • I never knew Terry played guitar...

  • i used to watch them play at the woodstock club in killeen, tx. back in 1984 1985. they were in my opinion better than what they became later.

  • OMf-ing GOD !!!!!!!

starting @ 2:00 I just got massive wood

  • Wow, I didn't think Pantera was around as long as Metallica. Are these videos underground?

  • @racerx30 pantera actually started out as a glam "metal" band with dimebag and vinnie, it wasn't until around 1990 when they became heavier and got phil in as vocals. they had an album called Power Metal which was basically the transition, then was all heavy from Comboys from Hell and on.

  • @racerx30 yeah, they were around a little longer. used to be glam metal but then became more hardcore/thrash, especially with CFH.

  • what an amazing video.

  • OOOOOOOOH NOOOOOOOOO

  • I wonder if that was filmed at Rascals in Arlington. I used to see them play there back in the day, like this vid. Great post.

  • really admire BOTH Panteras...

  • oh dear

  • These old Pantera albums all deserve to be released.

  • @Dshtreeriverfuk Re Released !!!

  • Terry Glaze it my guitar teacher. I've played with the guitar he's holding in this video.

  • Yes, Terry joined Lord Tracy after pantera. they put out four albums starting with "Def gods of babylon". their first single was "out with the boys", followed by "foolish love" a rock ballad. their last album was "porn again". they were originally named "Tracy Lords" but were sued over the name by the famous porn star.

  • good old Pantera...........

  • in some parts donny looks look a really young james hetfield!!!

  • Nice F'ing Vid! Crystal clear it is!

  • i didnt know the original singer played guitar too.

where did the vid come from?

were the other pantera vids mentioned on your page taken down b/c phil was in them?

  • i met terry glaze today WOOOOO!!

  • u should of asked him to sign a copy of trendkill.

  • ha yea i would of its just i wusnt expecting to meet him i was actually at the thing to meet paul reed smith which i did then outta nowhere terry glaze showed up but i guess its cause his daughter goes to my school but yea so i just got a pic and autograph

  • Dude, lucky...I think the band he joined after(Lord Tracy...?) had an album, I gotta look for that...=P Anyways, epic song...anyone know what that Dean Explorer-type guitar Terry's using is called...?

  • @enix165 its called a dean Z, dave mustaine has a signature model out called the dean zero

  • @XxDrFeelgood23xX Ah, thanks. I must get me one. =D

  • witch city is that

  • I think Terry is better than Phil. Phil had the agression and havieness that the band was looking for at the end of the 80´s I think.

  • oh saca! i can't agree with you completely.... because phil of first time (cowboys) have a nice voice..... listen

  • im gonna pretend I didnt read that.

  • @sacamedeaca pantera would have never become a metal icon without phil. people love heavy PanterA more than glam metal pantera.

  • @JagexCamMan not me, i guess because i am more of a classic rock fan

  • @JagexCamMan I have to disagree with you there, I mean, don't get me wrong, I love Pantera, Heavy and glam. But this stuff was very, very good for their time, 1984 was the start of all this, but they could have became a metal icon if they stayed glam, I mean, look at Motley Crue, Def Leppard, they were similar to this and they are icons.

  • @sacamedeaca Better than phil ? what the fuck are ya talking about man. fucking hell.

  • @sacamedeaca circa 1990 phil was better imho.

  • I remember in the I Am The Night album, there were order forms so you could buy a Pantera (Live) video, and some merch...I wonder if this is some of that video

  • what happened to terry glaze? did he get kicked out or what?

  • from what I know, it was a mutual thing, they wanted to go heavier, he tried it, didn't dig it, they split....

  • thats too bad if they got heavier with his voice itd be like another judas priest

  • pegasuslover97, there are recordings of the Power Metal album with Terry singing...now getting a copy might be tough...those songs, were released with Phile singing, there's even a version of Down Below with Phil's vocals....I'd love to hear the Terry versions...

  • Go Terry Go!!! I love this song. Does anyone have the live video of "Nothin' on but the Radio"? My favorite old Pantera song.

Poor Terry Glaze. Lord Tracy never quite made it.

  • There never was a live "Nothin' On" video. Bummer..... Also, Terry did just fine... He still plays gigs all over the US & still puts out albums. Check them out sometime!

  • i love this song !! (LLLL

  • Web of Hair you legend- where did you get these old pantera videos???

  • the best song from the first album. even better live

  • they were all essential to the band

  • This is good, but Phil was the neccessary addition to Pantera. Dime and Phil were essential to the band

  • Amen to that! LONG LIVE DIMEBAG!!! Everyone should buy a dimebag in his name if you haven't already..lol.

  • Terry is the shit ... BUT .... he is no Phil Anselmo. Dime just made anybody seem like they were the shit... LONG LIVE DIME..

  • Wow, terry played guitar and sang. i didnt no that

  • Pantera was an even better band before phil replaced Terry.

  • phil took the cheese out of the metal!

  • i sent my friend(die hard pantera fan) a song like this he had to look it up to make sure it was pantera

  • the banner bwhind the band is in my friends jam room.

on the back of the banner terry glaze not only painted the panther on the front but he painted a pegasus on the back of it.

and if i was lying about this i wouldnt have told anyone this.

  • awesome of their early stuff

  • thats weird they have two guitars

  • cool, I have this album...as well as projects in the jungle, I am the night, and Power Metal

  • were did you get those albums? i cant find them any were

  • you wont find them, they're out of print

    :o)

  • you can get all the old PanterA off limewire !! look up the songs from the old albums them go download them !!!

  • thats what i did but while looking up the tabs for the old stuff i found out that you can get it of amazon

  • I would bet you could get them on ebay as well as any old record store that's still around. There's one not far from here that has a lot of rare albums.

  • why does everyone call this glam... its not.. its classified as heavy metal

  • Man, dimebag 's solo on that video is totally insane!

  • How I love this song!!!!

One of the best old pantera songs...

    \m/

I must have this video, and many more old of Pantera...

    Thanx man!

  • wow, cool video, I can see each band member in action, and live! Terry is even playing the guitar, just how he first started in the band.

  • They ALWAYS kicked ass. Even this old "glam" stuff still has amazing lead guitars, strong vocals (not the poofy Poison type), and a powerful rthym section. VIVA PANTERA!!!

  • its awesome Hair Metal, not glam.

  • Damn this is one of my fav pantera song

  • Yeah Please keep posting these sweet rare vids

  • As always, you are the man. You have the best Dime vids by far on here. I bet you had lots of fun... Hopefully we'll see more, maybe behind the scenes stuff? We can only hope.

    Rip Dime, Getchya Pull!

  • Pantera, old school, new school, doesn't really matter- they kicked ass all over the place.

  • Yes but the "old school" was much better than the "new school". They OWNED before Phil Ansuckmo! Once he joined the descent started, even though they became more successful. Success does not necessarily = good.

  • dude, where do you get all these old school vids??

  • awesome video.

  • YES!! Awesome old school man. I love this guys material of the old Pantera. Please keep on bringing us the goods.
