  • Great video.. Looks like real fun to drive as you can see the fight back through the steering not like modern cars

  • It just sounds so NASTY...!!!

  • hey i met you at the montery historics a few months ago! is there any way to buy a cosworth dfv anymore?

  • DFV's ripped!!!! Great old school DOHC!!!!!

  • Good drive!

  • if only they raced with engines like this in the nowadays' f1 too :/ and sadly the track is quite curvy, the car sounds SWEET when the pedal is kept to the metal on a longer straight

  • @moptim Give thanks that the track is "quite curvy". The curves, rises and downhills on this 3 mile track are what make it so much of a challenge and so much fun. I'm not generating 3 G's in my Miata on this track, but 1 G is still plenty of fun. It may take me 2.5 times as long to circle the track, but I'm pushing just as hard, hitting the 7,000 rpm redline, punishing the brakes and tires, and having a blast. Try it if you can at your local road course. Any reasonable car can be fun.

  • Wonderful Vid'...

To this day there is still nothing to beat the noise and urgency of a Cosworth DFV shouting its head off.

  • That's awesome, thanks for posting. Looks like massive fun and a good buzz!!!

  • Great video! Are you part of the F1 crew that goes to Road America every year?

  • sounds like a cheap car. you should trade up for a kia rio.

  • @horses020 Sounds like a ridiculous comment. Are you trying to be funny?

  • @milano61 that is a nice car. whin i get my drivers lisence i am asking my dad for a car like that eccept a supera. is that car a 2 door? and is the ingine stock?

  • @flyinbryan1619 - Are you trying to be funny or are you like 10 years old??? you spelled 5 words wrong that my 7 year old can spell !!!

  • 3.0 v8 Cosworth DFV 475hp 11,000rpm about avg back then in 74,75 best motor they had at the time

  • Excellent video! The noise is incredible, looks like you had a lot of fun out there. Youtube needs more videos like this!

  • Nice camera, I loved the sound it captured and the frame rate to pick up your tires gathering slag.

  • No commets, it´s a really show of performance and shor. Unfortunally nowadays we can´t see this anymore on the races around the world.

  • Just out of curiosity, can you tell me why you quickly put it into third before second when changing down from fourth to second? also are you actually engaging the gear, or just keeping the clutch in whilst doing so?

Very nice video, i've watched it a couple times today and yesterday, i hope you make some more of this car, really nice to see some of the old March's still going strong :)

  • this vid is so sick

  • espetacular!!!!

  • Awsome, aren't you scared driving an old racer that fast?

  • Great video. Nice to see I take the same lines in my Miata, they just seem to take a lot longer for me. I never had a problem with 5th though, never seemed to use it.

  • Nice! I thought we were on for a "over-rev" at 4:10, was it a missed upchange or a mistaken downchange?

  • Nice 'catch'. Yes, I missed the upshift to 5th. Later that day we modified the shift linkage to elimate the tendency for my elbow to foul on the corner of the seat insert. There's not a lot of room in these cars and a little change to the shift rod length did the trick.

  • awesome video ,good luck with your historic F1 racing .

  • MORE, MORE !!

  • Seriously exciting to watch. That must be what it is like to wrestle to the death with thunder and lightening. Fantastic sound, and some really great driving. Thanks for sharing. :)

  • Real horror show.

  • whys it a horror show?

  • Take it you haven't read or seen the movie A Clockwork Orange. It's slang the main character from the says.

  • well i love this vid. i think its cool as f***

  • Sweet video!!! Love the sounds.

  • Great video and beautiful sounds! It's fun to watch these old cars with todays sounds and camera quality. :)

  • +1 Agreed!

  • the track reminds me of phillip island

  • Now, that's some proper engine sound. Glad to see you've managed to capture both video and audio properly. Nothing beats growl of Cossies and whine of Matras and Ferraris from late '60s / early '70s. And although 741 was one of an ugly son of a b... in my opinion, it's great to see this example so beautifully restored. Good luck running it in historic events and remember to keep uploading new onboards for us!

  • new video posted. different car and a different camera. The F1 camera setup does not work well with the magneto ignition of the Can Am McLaren.

  • your So Cal "crew" gives it 5 stars! Friggin flyin!! Post some race video!

    Sincerely,

    USFC So Cal Chapter

  • Back in the day when F1 had H gates....bad ass.

  • Great video.

  • amazing video!!!!! TEN stars.... :P

  • The track has a lot of relief but not much in terms of features it appears.
