This was unbelievable movie and the music is one of the best I've ever heard. This song is THE Best piece of music maybe ever (Avatar and braveheart are also competing)! This scene in the movie got deep in to my soul the way I didn't expect music and scene's could; they reminded me of my true self and brought tears in to my eyes every single time!

@shawnaw2 the vague similarities are there to create a theme in the music, an underlying connection between scenes/events and characters. The repeated portions create a sense of familiarity, and, in this case, acts as the "musical relationship" between Hiccup and Toothless =]

Many composers use this technique in several movies...it gives a sense of unity between related scenes (by extension, moods or emotions) or a kind of "theme song" for character(s).
