Isn't that why you save incrementally? The likelihood of your computer literally crashing and erasing the data is pretty slim.

@av3nger3 I do save constantly, But it was my hard drive that crashed out, I lost EVEYTHING on the whole drive. Movies, music, Family pics, and all my Zbrush stuff.

@Juiceworld1 yeah man there is software that recovers disks. I've had do recover many crashed disks. I even recovered one that caught on fire once.

Don't throw the disk away. A lot of the data is often salvagable. I know some companies like Vogon data recovery can help out. They are often expensive...talk to a decent techie. They are likely to have various utilities, and things called "hex editors" etc, that can get the data off the disk. The chance that this actual file is trashed is pretty low to be honst. Good luck. Msg me for more info. BTW is this blender?
