  • is it normal that my favorite part is the highpitch voice? i put the sound loud in my car while driving to senior citizens retirement homes ;)

  • I think Matt Barlow is just taking a break from Iced Earth to grow that hair back as he felt weird performing without it. lol

But seriously, awesome performance as usual from Mr. Barlow.

  • @OtakuKing29 'tis actually the right way to say it, and the way you'll hear it pronounced in Dracula's home country.

  • @b3nighted "I did not know that." -Walter Sobchak

  • @uuqela LOL! yes :D

  • I couldn't believe that song could be performed live...

  • so sad he is going to leave again :( After Bruce Dickinson, second greatest voice for me

  • ahahahahh the guy near your camera ruined the high note before the solo! he can't neither sing! xD

  • DRAKKUHLA!

  • best Allbum they ever made, best song they ever wrote (maybe second to phantom opra ghost)

  • 2:39 he misses his long hair...

  • Barlow is the only true Iced Earth vocalist! And it's good to have him back! :)

  • Epic

  • Matt has to grow his hair again!

  • DRAKALA!!!

  • actually the bram stoker's DRACULA was based on lord byron's nouvelle ''the vampyre'' and on ''mysterious stranger'' . check it out!

  • yo tambien los vere el 14 ... aunk me gusta mas bartlow ,,, love this band a lot .. just waiting to see them ,,,

  • LOS VERE EN COLOMBIA EL 14 DE FEBRERO TENGO VOLETA YEAAAAAAH!!! 2010 hijuputas!

  • Wow lots of dracula intellectuals suddenly.... I love the way metal learns us a little bit about culture and myth

Great song-great band. although i wish they wrote songs like this again

  • Metal bands today wish they had this much passion live.

  • Barlow looks and sounds great!

Wouldn't fuck with that dude ever

  • actually he is pronouncing "dracula" quite well. Romanian (from where the legend came up) is very phonetic and it reads how it writes. Dracula - Drah-Coo-La (or DRA-KU-LA) with accent on Coo, respectively KU... the word is derived from Drăculea (Son of Satan). Anyway, he's a fictive character so won't bother if you miss-spell his name. :)

  • yes, but also he says "dracula" in Spanish ;)

  • @ mor3ga: this needs to be corredted in two points:

    1. There's no such legend coming from Romania, the song is about the Bram Stoker novel "Dracula"

    2. Drăculea means son of the dragon

    peace

  • @EternalHeavy:

    1. Actually there is a legend coming from Romania. It's called "The Legend of Dracula" and was generated by the severe reign of Vlad II "Tepes" (Vlad the Impaler). So Bram Stoker's book, which i'm sure you had not read, is inspired by this legend. Actually a part of the action, in the book, is taking place in Romania.

    2. Drăculea means son of Dracu (wich is Devil or Satan, in Romanian). Vlad I, Vlad Tepes' father, was known as Vlad Dracul (Vlad the Devil).

    PS: Where are you from?

  • @ mor3ga:

    1. Yes, the legend from Romania inspired Bram Stoker to give his vampire the name Dracula and to let him come from Transsylvania. The action of the book (which i really haven't read) still has nothing to do with this legend. To be be even more accurate, the lyrics of this song don't even refer to the book, but to the 1992 F. F. Coppola movie "Bram Stoker's Dracula" (which makes me assume that you haven't read the book either).

  • @ mor3ga:

    2. Yes, I know that dracul means devil nowadays, but back then when Vlad lived, it was more often used in the meaning of dragon. He called himself like this because he was a proud member of the Order of the Dragon.

    I'm from Switzerland and you?

  • 1. I think there is a missunderstanding, i never said that Bram Stoker took the legend and created the book. He was just inspired by the character. Actually the original legend that is in bond with Vlad II has a lot of variations. I have read the book.

    2. Vlad I (Vlad II's father) was member of the order of dragon, and received a medal showing a dragon. The peasants thought it is the devil, the reason why they called him Vlad Dracu. And "drac" meant "devil", they didn't know what a dragon was.

  • I'm from Bucharest, Romania.

  • @ mor3ga

    you are correct sir!

though the story of dracula is heavily based on Europian folklore of nosforatu(dunno if i spelt that right), and there was supertision that Vlad the Impaler had become a vampire, because of the lak of evidence of his death.

  • @malaketh My good sir, there is plenty of evidence of his death. In 1476 The Turks decapitated his corpse and sent the head to Constantinople, where the Sultan had it displayed on a stake as proof that the Impaler was finally dead. True, we don't know WHERE his remains are, but we do know he was killed.

  • @Kletyse since posting my last comment i had became enlightened of that fact but thank anyway, i was infact miss informed. correct me if i am wrong but i think there is a lack of evidence for who kill him. but im not sure about that

  • @malaketh You are correct. So far as I know, we have no evidence of who did the killing.

  • Swe=Typiskt svenskar att inte kunna hålla käften när dem ska på konserter.

Eng=Typical sweds not know when to stfu in concerts.

    Iced Earth Rules!! \m/

  • hahaha, hell yes

  • yeah, i got to agree, like when i yelled painkiller the entire judas priest show at the priest feast tour

what can i say? i was bored, and the song is really good, and they had yet to play it at the time, though, i also continued to yell it even after they had played painkiller, when i was bored, like i said

  • Thanks so much for posting this!!!!!!!

Probably the closest I'll ever get to seeing the reunion with Matt since I live in the States and don't think their tour has any U.S. dates....dammit...

  • I hate to break it to you, but you missed them in the States. They were here late 2008. I saw them in Nov.

  • 'xactly, the first gig since Matt's return was in Chicago.

  • US tour was last year after summer, guess you missed it XD

  • Drac-oo-la is a more proper pronunciation of Dracula, actually.

  • barlow rulez!!! but i miss his long red hair hahahaha

  • wow!! barlow reminds me now of james hetfield !!

  • Hair or not, the voice still there, is the most important, his the best vocals ever!!

  • Because he was a police officer while he wasn't in the band.

  • He looks badass what the hell r u talkin about?

  • he cut his hair coz now he's a cop

  • Yeah man I know the fact that he was a cop, but is just that he looked like a viking with his red long hair, you know so damn metal!!!

  • Do you think about half the shit that you type or do you just not care?

  • Sorry to everyone that felt offended by the stupid comments I made about Matt Barlow. I didn't know that he donated his hair. To be honest he is one of my favorite vocalist and I know that he is a good person. It just that he had a long hair and looked cool. But anyways the vocals are still the same. Favorite songs: Dracula, Jack,Dragon Child,Melancholy,Ghost of Freedom, etc. Hail Iced Earth, Hail Metal!!!

  • indeed because he has become a policeman but also because he gave it(his hair) as a donate to an association of chimeotherapie children.

  • That's pretty cool Barlow did that. I'm growing my own hair long for that purpose as well. My six year old daughter asked my why I was growing my hair long and when I did her she said "Oh..I'm gonna do that too". When I told her she'd have to cut it all off she said "No..I don't want it all off. Just a little bit for a baby". I've been blessed with such a sweet little girl!

  • lol he looks lika rednceck

  • excelent iced earth the beast band...

  • Selee isn't good enough as Larry

  • Oh and I WAS THERE!

  • When he left iced earth he went to be a police officer, thats maybe why he shaved his head btw :P

  • Oh my god....Barlow lost his hairs somewhere...

HE is Back HELL YEAH !!Great Band, Great Singer.

  • pq pessoas que vão em show do Iced agora só filmam Melancholy, Dracula ou Watching Over Me? =P

  • why in the God's name did he shave his head! he was way better with long hair!!!! :(

  • Yeah, 'cause his talent was ALL in the hair, right? ;)

He still rules this mf earth!

  • you missunderstood ;) he looked better with the long hair , atleast thats how im used to see him , ah who gives a fuck , looks dont matter ;)

  • he sounds as good as ever, i saw them in 2009 and he fucking killed it. sounded excactly the same like on alive in athens. the reason he cut his hair is because he's a poilice officer and therefor can't have long hair.

  • I think the shaved head makes him look bad ass

  • @Avigo12: Because in 2001 he became a police officer, and going through that "growing out" phase is far too awkward for a touring band.

  • He became a cop after he left Iced Earth, and I doubt the waist length hair went over too well with the dept.

  • @JayTor2112 lol yeah his hair was like 3 metres long. i dont think the cops would allow that.

  • @Avigo12 Because he joined the police force :)

  • @Avigo12 agreed but him joining police after 9/11 meant he had to shave it but so glad he's back.

  • @Avigo12 He had to in the police force

  • @Avigo12 yeah, I probably got into the bald crisis. That is annoying with long hair

  • VERY GOOD PERFORMANCE BY BARLOW

  • Typiskt...

Jag bor i väst, och konserten var i Stockholm. (öst)

    *suck* (*sigh*)

Hoppas dom kommer till Göteborg en vacker dag.

ps. Hur löd spellistan, om man får fråga?

  • 01. (Intro) In Sacred Flames 02. Behold The Wicked Child 03. (Intro) Invasion 04. (Intro) Motivation of Man 05. Setian Massacre 06. Burning Times 07. Declaration Day 08. Vengeance Is Mine 09. Violate 10. Pure Evil 11. Watching Over Me 12. Ten Thousand Strong 13. Dracula 14. Melancholy (Holy Martyr) 15. My Own Saviour 16. Iced Earth
  • Aj... Det skär i bröstet att man inte var där.

Cool lista, säkert en J*VLIGT cool konsert också.

    !!!ICED EARTH!!!;)

  • is this the playlist? because if it is , lots of great songs are missing , it would suck to go for their concert and songs like Travel in Stygian and A Question of Heaven arent sang!

  • it's a pity there are only two songs from their two first and also the best albums...

  • Yes, it's weird, too much from the Ripper-era. ONE song from the new album, NONE from Burnt Offerings. They should play for hours, not just an hour and fifteen minutes.

  • @uuqela I have a 2004 show where they played 18 song, including the Something Wiked trilogy and all of Gettysburg (1863).

  • @cubby3o5 Yeah, they were into that about that time. Pretty epic. The time I saw 'em with Ripper they played none of the Wicked trilogy and the last two from Gettysburg. That's not as epic.

  • great perfomance and quality!
