I remember this back in 2000. Wing Young Huie's photography all over. Good old days chillin on Lake Street. They came by and we bought a copy of the book too. I need to get his Frogtown book.
Lake Street has always existed in multicultural neighborhood. Now, Mexican, Central American, Southeast Asian and East African stores share the street with standard American and even old-time European shops (i.e., Ingebretsen's).
I have lived in the Twin Cities my whole life, and I have no fear of shopping or walking anywhere along Lake Street. I love taking visitors to the area to shop; Midtown Marketplace rules!!
