Nope, I used an external cheapo smal-diaphragm condenser mic.

It was placed 2m in front of the speaker-cabinet

Is that an LP? Yeah so you obviously didn't do the bassman mod.. ;) what is the ruby driving?

Signal chain: Dearmond Starfire -> ruby, no pedals.

I tweaked some of the capacitor values and the bassman mod was a usefull starting point, but I didn't install the fixed gain. ;)

This sounds pretty damn good for a ruby. Can you share some more info please? Like what iother gear you are using, mosty what speaker you are going into and what changes you've made from the orignal ruby design. I want me a ruby buy only if i can make it sound a sweet as yours! Nice work.

The problem with a ruby is that most people use it with shitty speakers. This clip was recorded on a 2 x Celestion G12H30 ('73) greenback cab. Guitar was a Dearmond Starfire.

I only changed a few capacitor values to make sound it a tad darker.

FYI: the ruby I used in the video is currently for sale. message me if you're intrested...

Can you remember witch capacitors you changed, and to what value ? I would really like to get that same sound out of mine, but I can't seem to find the right peaces to come together :)
