God, this song is actually way more amazing as simply a piano piece, it has a more singular quality about it when it's just him and a piano, not that the bass or drums 'ruin' it or anything, but sometimes, more instruments just distract from the beauty and the quality of a piece, and this is one of those times. Plus, I tried the chords in their true selves and it didn't sound at all right. only after futzing around a lot did it sound accurate. @Huppington Hi. Thanks for your reply. I'm not sure if you're the only one or not who couldn't get it, because when I follow this chord layout it sounds almost exactly like it.

It's important to be noted that ALL of the actual chords are TRANSPOSED. this is probably why it didn't sound right at first. For example, for the Bbm and Ab, your thumb plays Db (C#). For the verse, the left hand is a descending bass line, with some other notes occasionally thrown in (Bb | A | Ab | Eb F)

@Huppington Something else tricky that I didn't mention in the original comment is that the Bbm chord is only played for 3 beats out of a 4/4 measure, while the next chord goes for 5 beats. These things are best realized by ear, as I'm not really sure how to notate them via comment.

So just remember that the chords are transposed so that Bbm's bottom note is Db, and from there you stay within a few notes range (it's easily possible).
