Well actually, it's very understandable that your throat becomes sore or whatever during this song. Remember that Jessica made this in a studio, she just sang the song piece by piece, then they added the music and put all the good parts together. I saw this behind the scene stuff with Mariah Carey and a song, and she was basically singing one sentence at a time, then stopped to drink water and whatever. Then she continued. They put it all together in the end and it sounded whole.

Actually, Jessica's breathier vocals are somewhat of an affectation, just as Christina's thicker vocals are. That's why they both suffer major diction issues. For example, Christina's singing in the song "Aint No Other Man" is EXTREMELY forced; the ultra-heavy timbre of the vocal is not at all natural; and when she reaches for higher notes, she has no choice but to cut down her vocal weight, because as a lower voice-type, she cannot sustain a weighty HIGH belt the way Jessica can.

Well, there's Chest voice on SOME parts, yes but ... You have to go into a head voice at some point ... not necessarily falsetto, but I wonder if you're confusing chest voice, with a powerful head voice ... You can sing and BELT out some notes w/ just your throat ... Your vocal chords, "head voice". Jessica does that nearly the whole song, as do I. I have perfect pitch, and I'm not saying you're tone deaf, but maybe just a bit confused on musical terminology.

Is this directed at me? I don't think it is, but if so...yes, when you go that high, it's a COORDINATION of chest and head resonation. It's not one or the other; it's called "mixed" or middle voice; and it is not a fixed proportion. For example, Jessica's is more chesty, because she is a high vocal type, and her passaggio starts later than someone like, say, Christina. Christina needs to start mixing MUCH earlier than Christina, because her chest voice cannot sustain pitches so high.

Yeah, I am. This song is in too high of a range for Christina. That's a FACT, I don't care how you, the media, or anyone else tries to spin it. She struggles on MUCH lower songs, ones that don't even require her to sing nearly as high for such a long period of time. "Aint No Other Man" is SIMPLE note-wise...the highest is a C#5. Yeah, that's pretty high for Christina, but not high for many other belters. Jessica is one of them. Christina's voice is naturally placed in a lower range.

Listen to Jessica sing this song live at the AMA's...she doesn't sing it with as soft of a tone, because she was sick, and was having to shout a bit. But the range would still be too high for Christina. Her belting range peaks at around an E. Above that is weak, shrill, with poor intonation, and completely unsustained. The proof is in the pudding. Christina cannot BELT that high, especially not for such a long period of time. She can barely even handle the chorus of "Hurt"...
