Notre Dame UCLA 2007 Highlights

Undergrad or graduate rankings can, at times, be laughable in relation to academics with regard to football (see Cal in the early 2000s). Unfortunately for stevehwan, we're talking about football, not basketball or one of the non-revenue sports (which unfortunately, very few people care about). I live outside the USA and, to put it simply, ND is synonymous abroad with American football at the college level. UCLA is known pretty well as a school (though nowhere close to the rep of Berkeley).

ND was so desperate for a win, they act like they won the Super Bowl. UCLA was playing the back-up to their back-up QB, due to injuries. Even Weis told the team: "don't act like this has never happened before". You gotta' cringe when you see the Irish antics on the field and on the sideline. Strictly little league.

That's not an excuse. Penn State had their third string QB in for a lot of the fourth quarter against Michigan in 2006, but it was third stringer Paul Cianciolo who led the Nittany Lions to a comeback that fell just short, not Anthony Morelli or Darryl Clark. UCLA still counts as a quality win.

notre dame will be bowl eligable this year because they have a weak schedule and there returning 10 starters on the offensive side of the ball also they have george techs D-coordinheor and charle finally is gonna focus on teaching the freshman players how to play and not calling the plays

I predict a 9-4 bounceback or 8-5 bounceback in 2008. It depends on whether or not the Michigan game is a win. For Michigan, the cupboards are bare but since they're the Wolverines, and not a directional Michigan school, they won't entirely suck. Hopefully by 2010 the Irish bounce back entirely.

UCLA was not QBless, they had their third string QB in. I don't buy the excuse that it's only a loss because of that, didn't Stanford, a 45 point underdog, beat "mighty" USC with their third string QB?

Notre Dame is no MAC-caliber school. They were this past year, but every school as a shitty year. Beating teams like Michigan, USC, UCLA and Penn State is no small potatoes.

Sadly, this was one of only Notre Dame victories (the other being over Duke). I'd have loved to seen them have a great year this year, and I was hoping the early struggle against Penn State was only early season problems, like when Penn State had its ass wiped by ND the year before. Notre Dame's my second favorite team (with Penn State as my top favorite) so I usually cheer for them, but when they play Penn State I gotta cheer for my Nittany Lions.

I was at the game and so frutrated - left at the the third quarter after ND's defense made a touchdown.

I do have to say - ND's fans are a class act and we welcome them to the Rose Bowl any time. They're not USC. USC fans are ignorant and pompous. Most have never attended a day of college in their lives...they've only lived in the same hood.

Kentucky is good this year because of andre woodson who actually should get more hype for the heisman than he receives. All of charlies players are sophomores and freshman but he also made brady quinn amazing and jeff samardzija who was going to quit when ty was the coach.

I would say UK bball and Notre Dame footbal are the same. You are being a little bias. UK 7 National Titles, 43 SEC titles, UK has won 2 national titles in the last 20 years. When was ND last one? UK has won the attendence record in basketball 11 out of last 12 years. But right now the only fact is that Notre Dame sucks, right now they do and it is true.
