Foreman ran out of gas against Stewart but came to his fight against Moorer with grim determination. Read Teddy Atlas' book on the subject.
Moorer was beaten mentally before he got in the ring and big George knew he needed only one punch to finish it, as did Atlas, Moorer's trainer for the fight.
Alex Stewart was a very good fighter, but I believe that his fight with Tyson broke him. He was never the same thereafter. He never fought with the same confidence even when he fought Holyfield although he did so valiantly. The mental part of fighting is equally important as the physical and Stewart had tasted defeat and he had learned how to lose and he acepted it, he was never the same. He was a favorite fighter of mine but he never lived up to his true potential

Isnt it ironic that Foreman, who won his title from Moorer, a good fighter, caught HELL from Stewart?? And lets not forget all 3 of these guys had tremendous scraps with Holyfield! Great posting. Was waiting for ages. Yeah. What about Holy vs Dokes bless???
@littleprettyplp FOREMAN WON STEWART HANDS DOWN, STEWART RAN ALL FIGHT TO SURVIVE LIKE A FUCKING CHICKEN, GEORGE KNOCKED DOWN HIM TWICE, PRIME FOREMAN WOULD KO MOORER AND STEWART IN THE SAME NIGHT .FACTS...
@littleprettyplp yea and moorer was giving foreman a bit of a hiding until he got caught with that right, and in the previous segment they are critisizing moorers ability to punch at heavyweight because he couldnt take out stewart in 2 rounds and foreman who is tremendous puncher couldnt finish him at all
@Jorsalfar yes he did and fought some tough guys. I don't care that Bert Cooper was an underachiever, when he trained and was mentally prepared he could fight. He nearly ended Moorer's run in 1 minute.
@sinusbradycardia Yes, but MM showed what he really was made of there. He came back right after to put Cooper down and eventually blasted him out of there!
George Foreman is an idiot...just wanted to say that...

After watching this fight and the Bert Cooper fight, I have to say that Michael Moorer was a real warrior. And a hell of a fighter.

@littleprettyplp Isnt it ironic "Moorer is a future champion" says George who then beats Moorer at the first defense of his title?

If anybody came up the hard way, it was Michael Moorer. When he moved up, he had 12 fights before he got a shot at a title!
