  • thanks for the info. It makes sense since that is what they do in the wild. Has your cats vet commented on your method to feed your cats? I have began looking into making my own cat and dog food. Something else.......do you worry about the plastic containers and what the plastic might do to the food/pets? thanks so much!

  • are you a girl ore a boy

  • Of course she chose pussy food...

  • nice work dude!! nice work indeed!!!

  • very interesting! thanks for sharing!

  • That was really exciting, I'm glad I stopped by. My cats, my cats are very picky, they pick out all best bits in cat food and won't touch all the soy additives! Or maybe it's called Tofu? Whatever it is the cats don't like it. So all I need now is a freezer....damn I'll have to buy a fridge too, well a bigger one anyway, much bigger.

  • Respect :P

  • thats alot of love right there. thanks so much for sharing the word on raw feeding.

    excellent description.

i feed my pup raw whole prey which she loves the workout and is so easy for me. its incredibly cheap (well she's only 7# so it doesn't take much) and like your cats she's in top condition.

  • @ZeBeFruity - ha ha, 7 lbs? Only one of my cats is that small. Wish I could get them to eat whole prey, but only one is interested, and I've been trying all year now.

Thanks for the encouragement. =) I'm used to getting nothing but confused, derisive comments when the topic comes up.

  • @CodyOriole its very cool that you have SIX cats eating raw in this backwards society. AND that its not processed raw. the whole prey step isn't all that important. one reason whole prey was essential for my dog was that i feared she'd gulp and choke on pre cut pieces because she is not a dainty eater.

i know exactly what you mean about peoples reactions. to me feeding raw is common sense. why would anyone feed their loved one dog or cat food? i don't get it.

  • @ZeBeFruity - Common sense indeed! Your response here just made my otherwise shitty day much better. Thanks =)

  • I give Tux some meat, but hadn't really considered making it the main staple of his diet. Awesome how-to.

  • I can't help but notice that when we first see your ingredients, they appear to be in the shape of a person :P

  • @SANTARII - ha ha! I hadn't noticed that at all, actually. I have, however, pondered how they'd react to people-meat... =3

  • Nice! I don't have cats so i never thought about it... What about veggies? Commercials for catfood seem to have all kinds of veggies in it (or maybe that's dog food?) And what about fish?

  • @MrImportrans - There's a lot of research and information concerning both those questions, but I'll just give you the short answer =)

Cats are carnivores. Obligate carnivores. Their bodies don't make the stuff needed to digest and get nutrients out of anything but meat, so that's all I feed them. Meat. =)

Domestic house-cats aren't descended from fish-eating-felines, so far as I can tell, so I don't feed them fish in their diet; only as treats. I'm still trying to figure that one out for sure.

  • @CodyOriole I know, i'm not THAT interested to spend a couple hours to do the research myself ;) Thanks for the answer. I think this is really cool.

  • Your cats are so lucky to have real food. Good demo. Good uses for some of those throwaways.

  • @tobyr3 - I think my cat's're pretty lucky too, but one of them would be long dead if I didn't give him a good diet, so it's worth the effort.

Some days, I wish I could eat as well as I feed them. Ha ha. =)
