Using Steam doesn't make you any more intelligent than the next guy. I've often said that Steam users are the one's who need a wake up call. Why? They're giving Valve a free pass in creating a monopoly, and they're over paying for their games. If Steam is so great, then why are you paying the same for retail versions, especially when you can't resell them? With Steam you have FEWER rights as a consumer, and you willingly accept that.
selling your physical copy doesn't really give you much back
if you break your disk, your done; on steam you can put an unlimited amount of copy's of a game on any computer since its bound to account
steam promotes modding to a "fair" perspective; consoles ban more any attempt
I have an Xbox, I know its fun for some games, and others like TF2 that cost like 10 bucks for a game that's just as fun, but dont go dissing it when you have no idea what it is

It's a computer not a religion. I use a Mac and I'm not "totally ignorant" of everything but photo and video editors. Although you are correct about Mac users not being gamers. @cyrexFFXI True, sadly true. The upgrade thing is a misconception. I've upgraded the RAM, HD, and the Optical Drive on my MacBook Pro, I even upgraded the CPU in my Mac Mini to to a C2D (which runs Win7 for a media server).
As a Mac gamer, Steam for Mac does kind of suck. It runs fine and everything but there are very few games for it at this time. About 100 or so. If I want to play most of these games you'll have to run CrossOver. Not a big deal. All of my games run fine with it but Steam for Mac by itself isn't good. If you don't know how to run Crossover,Bootcamp or Wine or any of those programs then don't expect that many games from Steam. Macs are better for games than people think though. Mine can run Crysis.

/clears throat. I believe the "not playing games" statement is not entirely correct. Indeed, the Mac certainly does not have nearly as many games as the PC does, but when there were companies that made games for the Mac, they made great games. Bungie was a Mac only game developer before the Xbox, and Blizzard still releases their games in hybrid form for both PC and Macs. I've played a ton of games on my Mac. LucasArts, Interplay and EA all released games for the Mac, and I've played them.
Mac users don't "deserve" games simply because they own the wrong product? That is absurd. The only thing that makes a platform worthy of having games is whether or not it makes game developers money. That's the primary goal. If Mac is now becoming a viable platform for games, why wouldn't a company like Valve be interested in expanding their market? Being an elitist prick doesn't make you more entitled to games. If Steam on Mac proves to be profitable, Macs will inevitably get attention. Deal.

Not all Mac users only know how to do video editing and photos though. I am no interest in neither gaming or video/photo editing yet I use a Mac. It is what the individual user do not just the computer.

agree with most but Steam does have a home on macs as well as most games. I have a macbook pro as well as a Dell XPS 720 gaming PC and its nice to be able to game on the go on my mac now without having to dual boot, the guy is a fucking moron though.
Simply put, the pittance of games that valve offers Mac users, is not worthy of high adulation by any extent.

@sc0pl355 The Pc version gives you more control of your team mates. I can make one guy use sabotage on one guy, I could use kaiden to use lift on on other guy. This makes the game easy even on insane. on the final boss, all I had to use is lift and mow him down with my pistol.

The only gameplay 'improvements that I'm aware of on the PC are 1) PC-friendly controls and 2) Different inventory system (I had no problem with the old system)

They also have to go talk to macsoft and Aspyr to get a big junk of mac games anyway. I don't care that you beat the game, the game is not really hard just lots of walking. I also forgot most of the mac games don't work since the switch to intel.

1) I know that Windows has Right-Click. I said that windows users FORGET how to right click when using OSX, which they do. Also, OSX isn't based off of Mac OS, it is based off of NeXTstep which had right (and middle) click when most of the PC users were still using DOS.
2) OSX does NOT have a start menu. If you ever used it you'd know this.
3) My first computer was a TRS-80 and I've been using PC's since the 80's.

This kinda reminds me of that one time when me and Keith wen to the computer store, but I couldn't go in on account of me going too crazy with the demos on their computers and he stole the most expensive thing in the store. Well It turns out that we stole one of these mcantoshes or somethin' and I tried installin' some of my videogames from my PC at home and wouldn't ya know it I couldn't do it. /clears throat. I believe the "not playing games" statement is not entirely correct. Indeed, the Mac certainly does not have nearly as many games as the PC does, but when there were companies that made games for the Mac, they made great games. Bungie was a Mac only game developer before the Xbox, and Blizzard still releases their games in hybrid form for both PC and Macs. I've played a ton of games on my Mac. LucasArts, Interplay and EA all released games for the Mac, and I've played them.

Mac users don't "deserve" games simply because they own the wrong product? That is absurd. The only thing that makes a platform worthy of having games is whether or not it makes game developers money. That's the primary goal. If Mac is now becoming a viable platform for games, why wouldn't a company like Valve be interested in expanding their market? Being an elitist prick doesn't make you more entitled to games. @sc0pl355 The Pc version gives you more control of your team mates. I can make one guy use sabotage on one guy, I could use kaiden to use lift on on other guy. This makes the game easy even on insane. on the final boss, all I had to use is lift and mow him down with my pistol.

They also have to go talk to macsoft and Aspyr to get a big junk of mac games anyway. I don't care that you beat the game, the game is not really hard just lots of walking. I also forgot most of the mac games don't work since the switch to intel.

1) I know that Windows has Right-Click. I said that windows users FORGET how to right click when using OSX, which they do. Also, OSX isn't based off of Mac OS, it is based off of NeXTstep which had right (and middle) click when most of the PC users were still using DOS.
2) OSX does NOT have a start menu. If you ever used it you'd know this.
3) My first computer was a TRS-80 and I've been using PC's since the 80's.
4) What does being asian have to do with ANYTHING.
