i remember when i was 5 years old and i used to watch my brother play this ALL THE TIME. this was the BEST GAME EVER. i even learned the theme song on freakin piano, by ear, AT 5. this was metroid at its best.

Retro Studios is awsome, they made a totally new gameplay for this series yet keeping the original metroid games feeling, prefectly "remade"

that being said, missiles are far inferior to the annihilator beam in this fight, they rarely hit the tentacles, and if they do their slow firing speed makes their damage output less than noticeable. and I grow rather tired of hearing people say "YOU SUCK BRO!" just because the player gets hit a few times. It's a tough game, fuck off u dam trolls

@balltavorb You know, I still got pwned with my missiles -.- Empy's 1st form reduced my 15 Enery Tanks to nothing more than ~80 HP...on Normal (GC version) :/ I still beat him on my first try, thanks to the 2nd form allowing you to refill ammo etc. :)

it is stupid to use missiles on this guy, because a final boss battle is suppose to be epic, esp. in a game such as this. Doing everything in your power to utterly destroy a boss makes the battle too one sided, and therefore not as fun as it was intended to be

I did not use rockets cuase it shows you that you dont need them to beat this guy and on top of that it makes the battle harder and last longer now why would a good player want to show he can beat this with something that makes it easyer?

I forgot I had this game until like last week. I started a new file just for the hell of it and I came to the conclusion that this may very well be the best metroid game ever. (though nothing will take the place of super and the original)

This boss was one of the easiest for me. I beat him on my first run. I use Annialator Beam and Super Missles.

then again, it took me 3 months to beat the boost gaurdian. i beat this guy on my 4th try, with only like.. half of the max energy tanks (7 i think?)

Use the light beam for begining part of boss its one shot kill on tenticles.

on third part use annihilator because its affective when he changes and does crazy damage.
