the difference is in the length and the m16 usually has fixed stock

Actually the M4 is a shortened version, the non M4A1 version fires in bursts, and the M16, M16A1, and M16A3 are automatic, while the M16A2 and M16A4 are burst.

@jonathanwlu they all have these firing modes, safety, semi, on the M16A1, A2, A3, and A4, there is and extra burst mode, and then theres auto. thats how it works.
