  • It was a really sweet sounding!

    Thanks Man!

  • What guitar is that?

  • That's the beauty of music. We all have our own sound and style that's as individual as our own handwriting wheather we like it or not. Ten musicians can play the same song on the same amp with the same axe and end up w/ 10 different sounds. I turned 10 in 1961 and had a front row seat to the birth of today's music. Les Paul topped the charts with How High The Moon the day I was born in June of 51. PERFECT timeing!

  • Hey not that bad of a lesson. very practical and sure beats the Crap out of that last lesson. what the Heck was that anyway?

  • Were can we see you play live, and is their a class with tip's on how to set up a pedal board like what should go in front of what? thanx.

  • hey i gotta question, i have been playing for a while now, like 8 years, and i know this is gonna sound lame but i dont know the notes of the fret board, like ik them but i have to think about them. ik theory but its hard to apply it when i dont know what notes im playing. is there a good way to learn my fretboard or should i just keep working at it. ik it i just have to think an di wanna get it to the point were i dont have to think.

  • @TheWho0180 - hi - learning the fretboard is important and you want to knock it out a little at a time - just chip away at it - we have some killer lessons on our instructional website to help you with this and there is a free 3 day all access pass on the home page at next level guitar dot com - check it out in the master classes-intermediate lead-overall lead - ENJOY and rock on!

  • @TheWho0180 men I bin playing for aobut the same and I don't know the notes aider.

  • @TheWho0180 When you play a note, think of it as the root of a barre chord in E, A or D shape. I don't know if you understand what I mean, but it really helps and takes no time to learn it!

  • @LMilleniumT I've been playing guitar but I have no idea what the hell your talking about?!

  • @LMilleniumT i got you, thanks man, like ik alota my chord shapes, scale shapes and all that good stuff but i couldnt tell you what scale i was playing off hte top of my head onless i start on the low E string, and thats not good, thanks!

  • @TheWho0180

I'd recommend that you choose a couple of notes that you want to learn first, and then just learn them. Take C for an example... you want to know where all the C:s are, so take some time and focus only on C. After a while, you switch to, let's say Bb. And do that with maybe 4 notes, and then add more notes. I'm not a teacher, but this is what one of my teachers told me, and I've learnt a lot since. Don't forget to practise scales too, that'll help you as well.

  • Me, I kind of like to measure a good "guitar player" by his talent and knowlege of "jazz" riffs and arpeggios. When you can sit-in and jam with a jazz background musician(s), you know you have made it. It defines the American musician. Thanx for posting and job well done.

  • @missystu

the logical implication is a bit strange. a good guitar player is someone who renders her-/himself through her/his play a true American musician?

  • Enjoyed this lesson - thanks a lot. Particularly liked the 'Jamming with Dave' section - really useful to be able to try some stuff out 'live' in the lesson...

  • i miss johnny bravo

  • This guy brings redemption to this channel ..

  • i love his non metal videos, great teacher really i'm just not a metal guy myself. it shows how solid and well rounded of a guitar player he is.

  • Great great lesson! This guy really knows what he's doing!

  • One other thing. You guys, whatever guitar you got, You make it sound beautiful. Thats irritating ;ppp I got a Gibson Les Paul Studio with an all-mahogany body and a Laney CUB 12. Quite a decent set when I was Youtubing it. But not that beautiful when Im pluggin it in. I don't understand... Does ability have a lot to do with sound?

  • Hi, great playing! Another few evenings of pleasant practicing. I wanted to ask whether Im hearing correctly, that You've got some reverb there?

  • Hey, great lessons. Could you possible do a lesson on voice leading with chords in Jazz? That would be really great.

  • Yes, this is what ive been looking for, for awhile thx for the lesson.

  • I love how thet always say "before I forget..." But it always in a seperate video... Meaning... They forgot n had to record it after :p great lesson :)

  • Thanks for the great lesson Dave, it's good to hear you play something outside of what I feel is your style. Usually I'm thinking about how I wish you had more feeling to your non-rock playing, but this sounds excellent. Good stuff all around, I'll have to try some of the scale shapes. Who says you can't play jazz on a shredder guitar?

  • You should make a link video to this with the same jam for just a few minutes...like tell us before hand what you're gonna do and let us be creative :)

  • Seriously...such good teaching. Much respect and thanks :)

  • What guitar is that
