@Chinook249 Look at the original video and after pics on "Donner Pass Rollover: plus after the fact pictures." that's by 'TheBarberian' who was the driver that taped this!! THE TRUCK WAS DEMOLISHED AND 2 MEN DIED, SO IT'S NOT "LOL" !
this is how fast something can change around you the driver of the truck filming it could have been involved if they were not alert. This is why you have to keep your distance away from us trucks
@countrymusicgtavboy2 The 2 drivers died is what this guy said on "Donner Pass Rollover: plus after the fact pictures." that's by 'TheBarberian' who was the driver that taped this!!
@dawnofthedeadling The 2 drivers died is what the guy said on "Donner Pass Rollover: plus after the fact pictures." that's by 'TheBarberian' who was the driver that taped this!!
I heard the driver let go of the wheel when he couldn't find the gear. Then said God guide this truck. So sad. I tell my husband everyday to be careful and drive safe. All OTR or dedicated or evern local drivers Please drive safe.
the trainer was in back sleep and the driver was trying to make up time the trainer was kill he body was find down the hill, please pray for the family
2 people the trainer was in the sleeper. The Kid driving had only had his CDL 9 days. Not the trainers fault, it was the companys, Instead of running the truck as a 1 man truck so the trainer can train, that load was schedualed as if it was team drivers, so they take turns sleeping.
"Training" in the trucking industry is a tasteless JOKE! It is the main reason that these Mega Corporations are self insured, not a single insurance company in their right mind are willing to risk a dime of their own money with the "training programs" that these Mega Corporations currently have in place. The "team driver" situation that you mentioned is an all too common scenario.
A dangerous majority of the "trainers" in this industry are barely out of "training" themselves. While Mega Corporations shoulder a majority of the blame for the lethal "training" culture that they have nurtured, to say that "trainers" are blameless, is not entirely true. The "accident" in the video and countless others just like it, are akin to a 12 year old babysitter napping while the four year old baby plays with the owner of the house's loaded pistol. The results are as equally disastrous.
What i get from watching it is the trainee hit the downgrade before he found a gear, and in nuetral you dont have a jake, and on a 6-7% grade you dont have a whole lot of time to use the brakes before they burn and are useless, you depend on the engine brake (jake). Once you start accellerating from gravity its almost impossible for a kid with licence for only 9 days to find a gear, and even harder to down shift without over using the brake without the jakes help, just a lot of grinding.
The curves make me nervous, and if it has a posted speed, I take it slower than posted. And then I ease iinto the curve. This is so sad, and shouldn't have happened.
my experiance, your perfectly safe at the posted speeds on the yellow signs. I go a lot faster on the roads i know, and know the weather conditions, since im mostly a dedicated route, but on a road thats new to me i follow the posted. That wasnt his prob though, he didnt mean to speed, hes a trainee and didnt find a gear before the downhill, so he had no jake, and he fryed his service brakes. If you remember your training days, it can be a bitch to find a gear from nuetral on a downhill.
i read the report but didnt get close details but from what i can tell your 100% right, I dont think he found a gear before the downgrade, then just grinded trying to get it in gear (was hell for me in training too) so he rode the service brakes until they fryed, then BAM runway truck. He should have woke the trainer as soon as he couldnt find a gear, an experianced driver can grab a gear and downshift on a downgrade, but this kid had his license 9 days..i know that pass, he had time but paniced
Yeah that actually was the case. There was a guy in the bunk. Yes the drivers career is over and his life ended in that crash you see. As well as the trainer in the bunk. The cabs drivers compartment came down right into the guard rail crushing the entire cab
your right . he should have never slammed on brakes till it was straight. then he would have never rolled it over. his momentum would have carried him around what little curve was left
I taped it. It was leaked out for a month before I knew it. I gave up stopping people posting it, unless they are disrespectfull to freinds and families of the drivers.
yeah, i got it from a friend of mine. I hope I'm not being disrespectful of them. I know it's a very private moment when someone meets their death and maybe this will help others live when they see what can happen. I understand it was a trainee driving and a trainer either watching or in the back?
Wow, that was a bad crash. It's good to show this things on youtube, even if there are fatalities. Some families may see it as unrespectful for the ones gone, but I see it educative... who knows maybe he got without brakes, or maybe just pushed too fast without knowing the road properly.
In any case, keep safe and use your brain, either driving trucks, or cars.
On a video I posted last week with the truck that didn't make the curve on the snowy road, well guess what. Same thing happened this week in the exact same place under the same conditions. PLEASE SLOW DOWN!
OMG!!!! Yes, I saw this before!!! The driver took the curve too quickly! I also heard that there were fatalities! God, please brother/sister truckers, please slow down! Don't let these messed up HOS, and ignorant dispatchers push you to speed and drive unsafely! May they rest in peace.
Great taste in music hahahahaha
