  • Great.....except for the kick drum-crazy soundman. I'd like to take the lot of these guys and stick their heads inside John Bonham's bass drum for about 6 months....cure them all of this fucking kick drum-itis. I'm so sick of hearing shows ruined by over zealous wanna-be drummer soundmen.

  • Retarded adults make up the bestest audiences in da world!--B. Wilson

  • This is a great venue to see him after the show...leaving by the side back exit door. Saw him there "07, '08 & (meet & greet) '09. Crowd is older and wants to hear the music vs. in my hay days of BB concerts when getting general admission tickets for $6-$8 dollars was the way to go b/c you sang, dance on your spot & bounced beach balls in the crowds. The music now sounds so good w/Brian's fussiness to make it sound original.

  • why are people idiots for wanting to dance and be happy? I bet your one of those miserable fans that yells 'down in front'!!

  • I said this comment prematurely but its sad nobody is standing..

  • brian wilson fans are more mature than that, people want to sit ,watch, and listen. do you see people jump up and down at a classical or operatic concert?

  • Beach Boys music isnt similar to that of an opera or classical. I dont know about BW Wilson fans being that mature they usually are the ones filling up all the youtube videos with negative remarks about Mike Love.

  • Amen, brahud. Brian Wilson will be in the history books alongside Mozart, Strauss, Beethoven, etc. 100 years from now. And yes, the Fendertones are the first of what will be an outgrowth of many classical music orchestras of the future, playing Brian's music with accuracy and reverance.

  • If you're a Beach Boys fan, you should check out the Fendertones' youTube videos. They're a group that did a couple of BB tributes concerts a few years back. They tried to stay as true to the original recordings as possible. I was lucky enough to make it to the concerts, and they were absolutely fantastic. They did an incredible job of capturing all the nuances of the BB's genius.

  • @edwinglenn I saw those fendertones videos . I would go see them but I understand they no longer exist?

  • It is just sooo good to see BW and his old original Hawthorne High football buddy Al Jardine up there on stage together again (reminds me of another great BW song title .. "We're Together Again"). They both look great .. they both sound fabulous .. after all these years ..

  • Incredible song. They do cheat just a little bit on this live version by letting the drummer lead them out of the breaks with a snare hit.

  • this song is as perfect as perfect can be!

  • There is not a musician ALIVE that can surpass the natural born genius had. If you want to know the voice and "mind" of a genius....then here is the formula:

Brian Wilson is to modern pop music what Einstein is to physics.

Complex music, with emotion and LOVE...anyone interested in sharing these feelings please respond...I would like some intellectual conversation about music!

  • brahud - you've got my vote !! You've said it as good as can be said. My sentiments exactly. BW is a once in a hundred year phenomenon. I couldn't agree more with you. You want sophisticated upper-echelon conversation about BW .. so do I .. please respond.

  • When the technical aspects become a subconscious part of the music....Brian sits at the piano and writes a "hit" or a "symphony" without consciously thinking about note placement; verse/bridge/chorus or any of the technical aspects....he just does it! I have been a fan since I was 14 years old in 1984. Something about his music drew emotion out of me that I could relate to. It started with the surf stuff then I searched for every record I could get my hand on.

  • I love this song!

  • Sound is ok, though could be better. I will keep wondering why they do not bring a professional video/sound group to keep these performances for the future. The are great.

  • Id've tripped those prats up if they kept getting up in front of me all night.

    Nice work Brian and Al!

  • My first and just about favorite Beach Boys song! Still have the old 45 in its original sleeve! Brian and Al Jardine still ROCK!!

  • I freaking LOVE this song...gotta be one of my all time favorites, if not #1

  • Classic,Ive just got to go and see these guys!

  • LGIOK would have been a Top 5 hit if Capitol had held off releasing Barbara Ann for a couple of week. Top 20 even with the two stops in the song and their record company's sabotage.

    Phil ~ PrayForSurf ~ net

  • No one would've played this on the radio with all the dead air in it.

  • I know that is what all the experts say - But it was Top Twenty and on the move when Capitol rushed out Barbara Ann.

  • i went to a brian wilson concert it was amazing:)

  • The moment at 0:20 where they point to each other is priceless ! Thanks so much !

  • ...and as good as this show was, compared to SMiLe ath the Keswick, this was like KC and the Sunshine Band on The Midnight Special. Not to take away from the greatness of this show, but that's how good the first run of SMiLe was...and Al doing California Saga was the friggin' limit!

  • Any chance you could post more from this show

  • I was at that show ( though waaaay in the back), and it was the first time I saw Brian in concert. Though I do have my issues with him... that was one of the best concerts I've seen in my entire life. And this recording is nothing as good as it sounded in person!

  • great song

  • VERY cool to hear this underrated gem of a song on youtube, BW is still a great live act to see, this is spot on.
