  • sgt peppers .blabla lee mavers gardner how gay is the world

he doesnt have any new tunes..bottom line..he's great but he's not that great because he's trapped in an inbetween dimension..

  • What a shame, looks like his voice got Liam Gallagher syndrome.

  • @felix8989 Lee Mavers was first.

  • apparently in an interview with John, Lee was making new music and will have another album out. Who knows when, but its supposed to be as big and great as Sgt Pepper, one of the most anticipated albums of the modern time.

  • @therealDanHeinlein stop with the beatles comparison

  • i seen them 2wice in 2005 and maver's voice was spot on..wasnt there something wrong with his teeth at this point where he was totally in pain and was struggling to sing!!

  • Absolute legends n I love them and this!!

  • lee mavers has lost his amazing singing voice , luckily powers still has his

  • he didnt lose it. It's called being 50 and still trying to sing at the level he used to. that and some drug abuse, he's lucky he sounds this good.

  • top band, he done this performance and was obviously drunk! mind you, their not really a festeval band, more an itmate crowd that sit on top of them! love it!!!!!

  • Garethfeb16, not drunk, Mavers had dental work done between two dates around the time, not the best situation to be in, hence the stuffed jaw look and dodgy singing.

  • brilliant!!! i'll need too remember that excuse the next time i turn up at work late n drunkn.THATS SUPERB MATE THANX

  • what happened to his voice? does he smoke cigarettes?

  • great band, but the lead singer looks like a camel.

  • Christ these guys sure look older now.....I wish they hadn't stopped. Now they're more like a novelty. Sad.

  • I'd say nerves, stagefright before lockjaw...I think The La'a are an amazing band but, to put it mildly, these 'comeback gigs aren't great at all...Why come back and play the same songs as 15 years ago, great though they are. You 'ave to move on at some point..

  • ii disagree if i was a band id neva comeback and release an album it always seems to be shit and critics just compare it with old work which is far better and the band look shit, i just wouldnt comeback or id comeback and play lyk 1 tour then thats it

  • i used to play a few gigs upstairs in the revolution on mathew street, the new guitar player for them used to play with his band there, nice fella, love this song, tried a version of it on my site.

  • jay lewis is a top man.he plays in the john power band aswell.and i think his bands name his cractilla

  • DON'T TRUST THIS MAN

  • top band

  • A great band. I don't know why people say things like 'they could have been the best band' because they where, they released music. And put singles out for 4 years. They where very big and still are a highly respected band.

  • went to see the la's in the late 80's at the Picket Liverpool and again in 1995 in Ritz Manchester..great band.

    What could have been!!

  • and anyway it wouldnt be as good if it sounded like 20 years ago-itd be like the charlatans (the only one I bla bla)or some shite like that,i love this -fuckin hate edith bowman tho

  • the drummers standin cos of gravity,me mate drummed at the dublin gig n b4 they went lee was tunin into the fridge, best band ever

  • He's probably got Heroin Lockjaw.

  • he had surgery on his jaw a few weeks before it,it was probably from lockjaw

  • Hey oldmillstream 1978 you stupid fuckin douche bag!!!!Do you understand he was having dental problems at the time,Pay respect to the man the LEGEND!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • try shutting yours

  • i like this version

  • Should have tuned the guitars down a bit for that one Lee! Still a great song.

  • Timeless Melody is a great, great song. But this performance of it sucks. The version of There She Goes at Glastonbury isn't that great either. So explain it to me--how can a guy write such great tunes and then totally go to pieces. Poor Mavers is one conflicted dude.

And what's this with forcing the drummer to stand???

  • The 'I am the Key' clip from the same period is brilliant. This is a shambles.

  • I like this version, its more rugged, suits the rougher vocals. i wish to hell they would get back touring. im favourite album of all time.

    such a unique group.

the la's mix magic with catchy nursery loving songs, this album is a must to anyone who has a clue about music.

    5 star.

    MUFC THE RELIGION !!!!

  • what he just said. appart from the man u bit

  • To be fair, their version of There She Goes at this exact same gig (Glastonbury 2005) was very good, you can find it in youtube.

One bad song does not mean the whole gig was bad or that the lead singer is on drugs during the gig. Let's get things in perspective.

Check the other video from the same gig and make a better-informed judgement.

  • god that guy looks drugged up

  • This is so sad I can't even watch. I seen them live in Providence, RI in 91' and they were brilliant. Seeing Lee like this brings tears to my eyes

  • Lee, man, make me a favor : fuckin enonciate !

Anyways, I think Liam Gallaher sings better than him...

Even if he's on tour nearly one year on two, he sings better than Mavers.

  • god he sounds horrible now. They were soooo amazing!!! And i don't think i have ever seen him smile...ever.

  • Mavers looks like he's frothing at the mouth. Seriously, he looks like he is close to death. Someone needs to get him to a doctor. Is he on drugs? Now I know why they never put out any more albums. How sad.

  • are Mavers' teeth wired together?

  • That was fucking dire.

Go home Lee, live off the masterpiece you created and stop taking drugs. It's OK!!!

Timeless Melody is one of the greatest songs ever written & seeing it murdered by it's own author is hearbreaking.

  • Yeah, its so fucking sad. The guy was a song writing genius and this is so pathetic it makes me want to cry:( Saw them live twice though, and when they were on form no one could touch them. Special.

  • Have you seen the clip here entitled "Interview and Timeless Melody"? It's utterly fantastic.

  • INCREDABLE!

  • drugs are bad mmmkay

  • Lee made the whole band stand for this song, including the drummer. like its the national anthem or something..

  • the lad on guitar is jay lewis he is a brilliant guitarist

  • Who's the stupid git on lead guitar? Lee, replace that bloody awful guitarist and the drummer and come back to us man. . .

  • Hi!jfhudak,

"the stupid git" is,I think Aziz Ibrahim who played in Stone Roses and next with Ian Brown. On is solo album he had Paul Weller and ex Smiths rythm section.

For the standing drummer,I see it as a Velvet Underground or Jesus & Mary Chain tribute.

    Greetings.

  • He really needs to get Cammy and Neil back on board. This nonsense of hiring your schoolchum to play drums when he's never held a stick in his hands before is crazy.

  • he's lost a lot of the sweet pitch of his voice with age. too bad.
