Beautiful bettas, I just got a crowntail but he seems really small compared to yours. He also acts very calm.

@Sasukesorrow, They are pretty standard size, slightly bigger than some because of the size of their homes.

you seem to know a lot about bettas, mind if I ask you a few questions regarding the safety and happiness of my little marly?

@Sasukesorrow, I suppose. For them to be happy make sure they have a nice sized tank with a fair few hiding spots, make sure you have a heater in the tank as they will get very sick when it gets colder and a light doesn't hurt. I would reccomend a Hang On Back filter as the speed of flow can be adjusted. For safety, don't use lava rock or anything sharp like certain plastic plants as they will rip and tear fins. A little flair up every few days gives them exercise. They also love real plants.

thanks, also I heard that you have to fast your betta once a week to keep him from getting constipated and then the following day feed him little bits of a pea to clean him out. and that the best food for them(although not to be given every day) are freeze dried blood worms, is this true? Cause I could afford his food as for a larger tank that has to wait until after christmas cause I don't have a job and my mom refuses to give me money for a 10g tank cause he's "just a fish" :(

@Sasukesorrow, You can have them in a 18litre (5g) tank but they much prefer 10 and love a 2x1x1ft tank which is 54litre (14g). I have my blue crown male (The one on the left in a small 14litre (3g) tank and he hates it. As for food, I would reccomend Live blood worms once a week as they are much healthier for the fish. Freeze dried are good but they start to rott if you're fish doesn't eat them all. Live worms bury themself into the gravel and the fish eats them when they stick their head out.

what kind of bettas are those? weird how there fins are all separate and spiked looking I haven't seen those before...
