You obviously don't know ANYthing about horses, because they are strong animals that can carry 20% of their bodyweight easily. That means a 1,200lb horse can carry about 240lbs. Did you know that? No. Oh yeah, because you speak before you think. Sorry.

It won't compare to riding a real horse at all, but it probably would be a really good tool to refine your skills in terms of position, seat, etc. while not having to worry about controlling a real horse.

I think this is a great idea for the purpose of stretching and muscle toning; maybe even for someone who is ridding for their first time if they are having some anxiety, because the worst thing you can do is put a rider in an uncomfortable situation considering this will make the horse uncomfortable.

Although I think the experience comes from the bond between horse (flesh and blood) and rider, without a doubt. Furthermore and for the record, I don't believe they are crossing any lines. :]

A year? Please. After that long they would get on a real horse and expect it to respond like a robot. That would be even worse for both horse and rider than a couple of rough first rides without having robotic instruction first.
