@doarner This was at a time before the "Federal Reserve" ( a privately owned corporation) took over the US monetary system and made it their own. The US couldn't just print money whenever they felt like it, as they do now. There was a set number of dollars that equaled the amount of gold held in reserve. War Bonds were issued in order to borrow money from US citizens. You bought them in certain amounts ($10, $20, $50, etc.) until a future date when they could be redeemed plus interest.

And at this point, it was used to educate the Canadian Public about War Bonds (more specifically, Canada Savings Bonds). (And for the record, I don't mind that. We who bought bonds still have every penny of our money. We didn't get super-rich during the good times (that ended a few months ago), just enough to justify the move.

BUT -- take each dollar I had six months ago, add the interest earned from the bonds, subtract ZERO from the crash (bonds don't crash unless the US gets taken over) and that's how much I (still) have today.

Again, sorry if your hard-earned savings vaporized.

It was done by a different within the studio than the one that had been responsible for the real Snow White scene, by different artists who were working on a lower budget and tighter deadline (these wartime propaganda shorts were cranked out very quickly). So while parts of it might seem a bit "off" compared to the movie, it is indeed legitimate.
