What is not being told here is that even if you do get a successful loan modification, your lender might sell your loan and then that modification will not be valid because the new lender who took over the loan will want to change the modification. They are not bound by that agreement. The best thing to do is walk away.

The newly elected President Barack Obama could enact(once he takes office)to federally mandate long term loan modification's (interest) on behalf of all Americans with ARM Negative (sub-prime/ deferred interest) mortgage loans (the main reason for foreclosures) at a low interest rate (fixed by the Federal Reserve Bank) for 40 & 50 year's, depending on income. Leaving it up to the bank's to do this is akin to putting the fox in the hen house to protect them.
What we fail to tell the consumer is that loan modifications is a new way for brokers to make fast cash. They charge anywhere from $1,400 to $4,000 to process paperwork. You can do this yourself. Contact HUD and they will guide you to approved housing counselors. This is what our taxes pay for. Don't be fooled into not paying your mortgage and paying one of these brokers. You just might lose in the end.
I agree with you, that is why I came up with a video that for $9.99 explaines exactly what to do and what NOT to do. The vidio includes a professional who reviews the consumers paperwork prior to sending it in....all for $9.99! Can not beat that and consumers are getting it done. Yipee
Maybe they have not worked for you but I have several clients who purchased my video and are saving between $300 and $1500 per month. One family was able to drop their payment by $535 just by watching the viedo and a few phone calls to me. Victims are people paying so call loan modification specialist when they can do it better and faster themselves.
The people need to put Banners on their properties quoting, "THIS PROPERTY IS IN A LOAN MODIFICATION", (attorney details). To stop the harassment of thieves knocking on your door to see if they can steal your property away from you..

NEVER hire a professional, use Naca, or some HUD approved non profit. DO NOT hire people to be a "glorified secretary"...
