I'm pretty sure the reason that Cassie was chosen to morph the crocodile and not Rachel was because Cassie wasn't really given much character development for the series compared to the rest of the cast. I mean face it Jake got the Tiger, Rachel got the Lion, Marco got the Wolf, and Tobias got the Hawk, and what did Cassie get? A horse... Now I think Cassie deserved some epic out of control episode.. she never got to kick butt.

The series has a plethora of animal-based violence and action that NO legitimate trainer would ever attempt, contains inter-galactic travel, has dozens and dozens of species from dozens and dozens planets and galaxies, includes countless times of morphing, and houses eloborate sets like the Yeerk pool or the Hork Bajir planet.

Animorphs is best suited for animation.
