@5:47 - @6:30 - the soundtrack reminds me of Derek Wadsworth Space:1999 composition for the "Magus Arrival" scene in the episode "New Adam, New Eve" and its reuse in the "Surface EVA" scene in "Brian the Brain".
@PsiStarstormOmega985 why would we want to stop it? we might not even be here to day if we do and then we wouldnt have a moon and how could we stop an enourmous planet coliding with us we wouldnt be able to breatth or anything. oh and i thought the planet was called thea
I remember that Earth was actually a violent cruel world. Named after roman gods it was formed into the volcanic planet. As we see it today Venus was not the hottest. Earth was, it had super volcanos. And astroids rained down each day. Causing mass explosions of lava. The lava was launched and the solar sun brought in the sun rays which caused explosions on Earth. The sun moved over and let Planet Orpheus crash into dust. Which gave Earth a name. The Home of Oxygen.
STRAIGHT UP. The planet Orpheus's last words were "YO. DIS WORLD NOW BE CALLEDTEHHOMEOFOXYGEEEEEEEEEEEN-"
I remember, because I was there and I was like "SHEEEEE-IT that planet done up and crashed into planet VolcanoRome, tho' I guess it's now The Home of Oxygen." I was gonna call it The Home of Depot, but I figured that was never gonna catch on. Then the solar sun brought in sun rays and lit up mah blunt and I was all like "420" and that was the year it all began!
Wouldn't an impact like this destroy both planets, creating a 2nd asteroyd belt? On the other hand,if the moon formed from earths ring of debries, why isn't this happening on Saturn? To strange...
Omg this is total fake this is how the earth was made 4.4 billion years ago earth was a toxic planet with no hope of life than another planet (unkown) smashed into the toxic world creating a blue planet
all you athisest are soooooooooooooooooooooooooooo stupid god made the earth moon, sun, and solar system. some one mesege me and tell me how that big collision made life
@skyjermaine I believe in god, but the only thing god has made (in my opinion) was the "Big-Bang". After that I believe in the "Rare-Earth-Theory". And now to your collisions: Lots of asteroids brought amino acid to our earth.
@wiibot15 I believe in god. Do you really have a logical explanation on how something that is currently 78 billion light years across could once be smaller than an atom?
The graphics are beautiful, but the angle of impact is totally wrong. if the two planets had collided head on and at such a high speed, they both would have been destroyed. Orpheus impact was in the form of a "grazer", meaning it nearly missed the earth, hitting it minimally at a corner first. Then it flew off, but having lost momentum, it returned immediately and hit the earth again and again and again, each time losing more momentum--and mass--to the earth, until it was nearly totally consumed
1 millimeter per year?????? OMG that is slow... but wouldent gravity pull it closer, like it is right now? or is the orbit speed of the moon just fast enough for it to slowly move away?
speed orbit of the moon is fast enough for it to slowly move away plus interaction of tidal forces on earth and on the moon (tidal forces are also on the moon, because of the earth's gravity pull on the moon, surface rises and decents, unseen to man eyes).
to continue... interaction of two tidal forces, cause to moon to move a little bit away.... I do not know how and why... forgot what they did say on documentary "if we had no moon" In short moon gets a little kick from earth, so moon moves a little bit away from earth....
@pifko6 The tidal forces result in bulges on the side of the moon facing the earth and and on the earth facing the moon. due to Earth's rotation, the bulges 'lead' the moon. this results in extra mass pulling the moon which adds to its tangential velocity, making it go out
@shutup735 actually no. The moon was formed outside of the kepler(sp?) belt. You see when mach 1 earth was hit by a planetoid... the entire mach 1 earth was demolished and pulled back together from the residue gravity. Later rings where formed from the debris. When rings form around a planet minute amounts of gravity cause the dust and rocks to pull together into a moon. When moons form this way, they do not get pulled into the planet they instead escape the planet's gravity.
@shutup735 it is the "slingshot" effect that is pushing the moon away from the earth, slowly but surely. 4 billion years ago, the moon must have been only about 16,000 miles away from the surface of the earth.
coollll it was awesome going to click like lol
