  • Hey guys, if you have a spare minute could you please check out some of my guitar covers on my channel. I hate advertising like this but it seems like the only way to get exposure, thanks if you do check it out :)

  • Quiero mi dosis!

  • I waiting for this girl... she is so hot

  • @DrKean77 How old are you?

  • for 16 people, the dealer turned out to be a girl

  • my dealers says im two minutes away in a taxi, then 30 minutes later he arrives looking all wired off a pipe

  • Greatst rocknrollsong of all time

  • hahahaha at top comment. that's precisely why im on this video. first thing you learn's you've always gotta wait.....

  • heroin is too expensive theses days.

  • @zeirdrange Probably Warhol himself...just being 'Drella.

  • I can't believe I've been rockin' hard for 37 years and I'm just now getting into Velvet Underground. I' ve heard of them since I got into 'Circus' magazine in 1974, but this year I'm Samhaining Andy Warhol (DO see 'Beautiful Darling', people!). I've heard "Sweet Jane" by Lou Reed solo and by Brownsville Station.

  • Kill the camera man.

  • @TheSyrupMan :( Is dead

  • @TheSyrupMan the camera man is Andy Warhol. That's modern art for ya...

  • They are not underated.......far from it my friend. that little boy has no idea what he is surrounded by.

  • il punk rock è nato con 'sto pezzo

  • i want to be that little kid

  • TOOMUCHGREATBAND!

  • The kid on maracas really steals this song.

  • aah.. the good old days, when it only costed 26 dollars. lol

  • @MrPeguin666

    loool

  • @MrPeguin666 Well that is because our currency was worth more back then, you also got paid less, and goods cost less in those terms.

According to inflation calculator 26 US dollars would be worth around 174 today.

  • in this video..nico was playing the guitar :0 ?? O.o

  • fucking great!!

  • How can you say that Warhols underrated when his "eleven elvises" sold for over 100 million dollars making it one of the most expensive paintings of all time.

    @jdawg10k

  • aaaah , 240p , we meet again .....

  • How was Warhol filming this? I see him strumming along off to the right.

  • I like a lot velvet underground and am big fan o lou reed but i hate andy warhol.I dont know very much about him and it is just my opinion. In fact i just know his most famous things, but it is too modern for me. And dont think it is really art, just rebelion against something. But just my opinion,i think opinions are healthy.Sorry for my crap english.

  • Whats so great about a dude that does not know how to focus or frame? Just messin ;)

    Great tune...

  • Thumbs up if you nervously sing this to yourself when your dealers taking his time

  • @PHILIBOYLONDON dude.........i was doing EXACTLY that the other day

  • @PHILIBOYLONDON Oh Yeah!

  • the little boy,is nico's son ari.

  • white people dont have to go to the hood to get their fix anymore. in the war on drugs..drugs win.

  • the greatest boogie ever..

  • 26 dollars in my hand!

  • @cells76 It got i bit priced up since...

  • @humbertojimmy unfortunately for us, man!

  • just because a man is an artist doesnt mean every little thing he does should be examined in that light.. jesus

  • LOVE THIS SONG! :)

Lou knows how to write a song about heroin thats for sure! :)

  • @IWantToTasteDirtyx3 does he ever. saw a great comment on another post of this song, summed it up perfectly. the song shows exactly what the game becomes after awhile.. waiting

  • @euphorium420

You see, I use to be a heroin addict myself when I was 18. (now im 22) so... I can relate to the song so much! hehe except the 26$ dollars!... try 100$ dollars for a gram! Wish I was scoring back in the good ol' days of cheap dope when I was a head... heh

But back to the song, I was hooked when I heard the lyric.. "He's never early. hes always late. First thing you learn is that you always gotta wait".. & that was so true when I use to score. "My man" was exactly like that.

  • @IWantToTasteDirtyx3 ya really everything is so expesive today and i have to worry about getting sold fake shit

  • thumbs up if matt smith brought you here *probley not a lot of people*

  • This video made me really dizzy and sick. Too much in out

  • This film has its own LIVE Velvets soundtrack, which I would rather hear than dubbing in the record. The film is over 40 minutes long & is almost the only Warhol film in which its author actually appears (after the police come in and break up the rehearsal). I wouldn't call the Velvets "underrated" since they are recognized today as the BEST American rock band of the 60s. Warhol is the most famous artist of the 20th Century. Most of the comments here are incredibly dumb.

  • this song is abt waiting for your drug dealer right? cuz "hes got the works" is that kinda line and hes all dressed in black and hes got long hair and is dainty

  • 16 people couldnt find Nico

  • how many groups got their sound from this act.. ?...

  • coincidently, 26 dollars is the price of an Adderoll refill.

  • i'm 74 years old, still love smack, still go to work everyday.

  • "First thing you learn is that you always gotta wait." So true : (

I love Drugs...lol But today at 75 Days, I am Clean and sober...Yay!

  • @moznico good for you, and tomorrows 76 ;)

  • @TheLexyboy Thanks alot! It means a lot to me : )

  • Seven years after this song was released, its sound was given a genre: punk.

(White Light White Heat is also one of the greatest punk songs of all time)

  • this video remind me of trainspotting!!!

  • i think this is the same beat as Heroin

  • What the hell is the cop doing back there?

  • ✓, ✔, ☑

  • i sing this to my cat,Whiteboy

  • I have this song playing in head everytime I go to my dealer now...

  • @sugardaddy815 haha you still have a dealer man? get your med card already

  • @ichopaugud

You think doctors prescribe opiates just like that?

Certainly not where I live anyway... (assholes!)

  • @sugardaddy815 from what i heard yea they give it away like candy. n i thought you just buying weed but now ic you have a real drug problem

  • @ichopaugud

Medical marijuana is only legal in a handful of countries... and they only give it if you have cancer or AIDS, I believe...

(And yet they have no problem giving away crappy, inefficient medication that destroy you like benzos or antidepressants)

  • @sugardaddy815 Na man i live in cali n everyone has their med cards all you need is a beating heart n you get one haha. But yea thats actualy what ive heard just benzos vicodine and other stuff

  • @sugardaddy815 Come to cali and walk into a spot and tell them your back hurts and you'll have a medical card in minutes.

  • somebody geting crazy with the thumbs up......

  • Innocent song about a man waiting for his friend who may or may not be carrying illegal drugs....

  • i hate math. the only equation i like is:

    the velvet underground = awesome.

  • thats some good shit!!

  • Who thinks oasis - Mucky fingers sounds like this song love both VU and Oasis

  • @michaelb3197 too bad even if lou reed lost his hearing, eyesight, and arms, he'd still be a better songwriter than noel gallagher.

  • @UC567 Still I love bth bands but they both coppied the beatles if not velvet undergorund copied them directly.

  • @michaelb3197

VU copied the beatles? hahahaha, lay off the dope

  • @UC567 what is a noel gallagher? Isn't that the guy who smashes watermelons?

  • I forget this the sixties. i got thrown off when I saw love beads! I always think of both Warhol and Reed as from another dimension.

  • 15 people dislike the song "I'm Waiting for the Man" by Velvet Underground.

  • @Rorypmccarthy OH REALLY? u know how to count! congrats!

  • smoke tha herb dont do heroin if you dont want to look like Lou Reed

  • his voice reminds me of bob dylan or the singer from the rolling stones who's name escapes me

  • i know this is a long shot. but i think "my man" just MIGHT be code for drug dealer

  • Sterling Morrison is the fucking coolest.

  • One of the best R&R song ever.

  • hey whiteboy. :D

  • Theyre all on opiates, even the little kids lol

    Judge for yourself.

  • This is a song I can play over & over on any given,& not tire of it one bit. I've probably heard it 6 times today.I don't mean I play it daily, but on days I do, one play never seems enough! There are aspects to this song that sound unique, unlike any other. For instance, the sound of the rhythm guitar cords I don't recall hearing that exact same guitar sound on any other song any where, not even on another VU song. Such a great sound! & the rhythm on this song is infectious!

  • One of the simplest and best rocksongs ever!

  • cooking nicely

  • The Balls !

  • Thanks Andy, it's like the video's shot by an 8 year old who's just discovered the zoom function.

    Underrated band.

    Overrated artist.

Yeah Man sorry for all that I'm usually not that much of a dick (or an idiot), I'm not sure what was up but sorry you got the end of it.

  • @thisnotmyname

Yeah Man sorry for all that I'm usually not that much of a dick (or an idiot), I'm not sure what was up but sorry you got the end of it.

  • @thisnotmyname

Cause you know so much more about art then Lou Reed, John Cale, Paul Morrissey, Barbara Rubin, and everyone else who held Warhol in high regards. Do everyone a favor and keep your idiotic opinions to yourself. VU are one of the most influential bands of all time. They are the godfathers of punk and indie, basically all alternative music has been influenced by them.

  • @jubilaz Are you an idiot? You are aware that this is one of my favourite bands of all time? I don't know if you read through my comment wrong but I clearly stated UNDERRATED band. They are held in high regard but, in my opinion, should be as well known as the Beatles or Zeppelin.

As for Warhol, I stick by what I said, his work might have been new and exciting in the sixties but it has hardly stood the test of time. His art was in his celebrity rather than his creativity,

  • @thisnotmyname i'm the wrong generation

so i don't know how rated they are

but i love warhol and VU

  • @thisnotmyname Thanks Andy, it's like the video's shot by a true artist who was experimenting with film to break out of the time period's conformity.

    Underrated band.

    Underrated artist.

  • @jdawg10k Andy Warhol conformed massively in the sixties; he was one of the most mainstream artists at the time. To prove my point: this rapidly zooming in and out rapidly is now a cliche of sixties music videos and not it's not a cliche Warhol created. This was hardly anything new or 'experimental'.

  • @jdawg10k What? Andy Warhol is not an underrated artist!

  • @MyndiRandomSocks He deserves so much more praise than he gets.

  • @jdawg10k Saying Andy Warhol is underrated is like saying Michael Jordan was an OK basketball player.

  • @jdawg10k Actually they are regarded as one of the most influencial band of the 60's-70's period. Andy is highly regarded in the art community till this very day, and gets great respect from his peers. I believe one of his paintings was sold for 20 million$ last year.

  • @YouCube7 I feel they only get acknowledgement in an artistic and cult way, not in terms of the masses. Most rag on both Andy's art, and VU's music. Of course, neither were aiming to impress the masses.

  • @jdawg10k But bands who have appealed to the masses have acknowledged VU's influence.

  • @jdawg10k Well, this band is not for everyone, they are not an "easy listen" and therfore dont have many fans but they are still being cited as a major influence by various bands/artists

  • @YouCube7 yeah man. Trust me I love them. I just feel almost "angry" they don't as much recognition

  • @jdawg10k

Wait... what? You do realize that both The Velvet Underground AND Andy Warhol receive vast amounts of attention on an international level, right? I mean... Warhol's experimentation in video is definitely underrated, but himself as an artist... not so much.

  • @jdawg10k - oh nooooooooooooo .......not underrated at ALL in my circle!!

  • @jdawg10k Actually it looks more like he's randomly zooming in and out like an idiot.

  • @thisnotmyname what do you know about warhol?

I dont get why is there this supremaçy of music above all other arts, yes maybe warhol is a little overratted compared to other painters of his time but he is surtanly smashed in terms of popularity and being hip than any Band the even a minor band. There is jiust such an misconception about musci and art. its sad

  • @scalemodellingtips you spelt certainly wrong

  • @Hailstonedpikachu I spelled everything wrong ;)

    English is not my language

but thanks for the heads up

  • @scalemodellingtips Yes, tha skul sistims oviusly shood be focusing on spelleeng rather then rrt. Our creative minds need no more stimulation it seems.

  • @scalemodellingtips "surtanly"?

Warhol is overrated. Anyone who creates a film like Empire is a weak excuse for an artist.

  • @scalemodellingtips I think you're having a misconception about everything you just said. Shut up and enjoy the music man,

  • @thisnotmyname THANK YOU

  • @thisnotmyname YES i hate warhol... he just wanted to turn art into a business (i mean it already was)... you need a WHOLE lotta acid to appreciate his junk... love velvetunderground... also, best story ive heard about the factory or warehouse or whatever when bob dylan took the elvis cut out or whatever when andy warhol woudn't pay him for being in one of his "movies"... safbmx.blogspot.com

  • couple good tunes and a lot of nonsense to boot.

  • who is that kid? he must be so cool

  • @elephantstone222 He's dealer

  • @vivizapa my dealer was ugly as fuck :)) but then my "bf" did all the "socialising" stuff..I'm not cut out for all the pleasantry purposes. Long, long time ago..but Velvet Undergound never changes it stays the same way for me to find it in times of need. Thank you Velvet and thank you Nico for then and now and to the after life.

  • back when new york city was cool...now, it's been disneyfied and bloomberg-fied

  • Thanks Thrasher!:D

  • i covered this with my old band, we had SOOOO much fun playing it. id wail on my tele while my drummer beat the crap out of his set and the bass was just driving. such good times. viva la plimpton!

  • The foundation of alternative music. See my discography review on my channel.

  • nah lemme git this right. I've got 2 streaming videos going on on the side, courtesy of The Streaming Video Man. But it doen't stress my micro and my whole bunch of rams(?) friends and neighbors, boys and girls, i got no qualms about just moving all the commercials off to the side. I got whale memory, y'all yet sometimes it doesnt' seem to be enuff. What? a feeder? wass a feeder. feed my naybers dog sometime.

  • I listened to this in the 80's, 90's..and now. And the VU sound never ever EVER sounds dated!

  • im waiting for my girl

  • Good video!

  • "here's this phone somebody gave me. they said i could talk to god but I don't know what to say. here. this is for you" ..

  • @Turdfergasen1107 you are very slightly silly.

  • I wish I had a time machine!

  • @amazonaaaa whenever i think velvet, i think time machine haha

  • @pmschoolsucks hah! I really want that time machine!

  • The "trippy" camera zoom spasms makes me want to stab whoever was operating the camera in the neckthroat

    incredible song

  • @LeatherCladVegan, be thankful you're still alive. Many drug abusers end up dead because they can't control their habit. You're just the exception, not the rule ...

  • I first hear these when i was ten and it affected me! don't know if that is good or bad,but life sure has been interesting!

  • AN ABSOLUTE CLASSIC

  • ABSOLUTELY THE MOST UNDERATED BAND IN THE HISTORY OF MUSIC THUMBS UP IF U AGREE!

  • @huggybobo88 Actually they are regarded as one of the most influential band in the 60's-70's period. And stop writing "thumbs up if you agree" cooments, you dont need the extra attention

  • @YouCube7 I hate when people ask for thumbs up. Also when they insult the people who thumbed down the video by saying 14 people are so and so. Obnoxious

  • @harriscmh you wanted those thumbs so bad, and you succeeded.

and people who dislike this are obnoxious. Keep it to yourself it you have bad taste in music.

funny you directed your comment at "YouCude7" who sits comfortable above you, and makes a great point.

  • Comment removed

  • @miele45 You caught me

  • @harriscmh The irony is that I have to thumb this up.
