@terreaa He actually started toning that down while he was on the show (this performance is a very early one on the show for him), and he now sings without all that added...and he is absolutely STUNNING! Just search a few of his recent performances (I've posted many of them), and you will see what I mean. The man can SING!!! But yes, he's a great musician too...and he is also an incredible songwriter as well. Was doing it long before he was on Idol.

Are you kidding? This guy is amazing! Powerful, rich voice, excellent piano skills, and thought-provoking songwriting. Top it off with him being one of the most genuinely sincere and nicest people you'd ever want to meet, and you know Theo is the real deal.

Wow he's good and love his version of Apologize. Do this guy have a CD out, because I would love to have it. I love Kris, but this guy is so much better. What a voice, I would love to see him live in concert. You Canadians are so lucky to have someone that talented winning your Idol. I rooting for Adam to win American Idol, he has been fantastic from the moment he auditioned.

Bridgette, Theo's debut CD came out Tuesday. It's called "Give It All Away", and it is absolutely AMAZING! I highly recommend it. You should also look up his new single "Lazy Lovers" on YouTube (he has posted the video). I think you would really enjoy it. Theo is a true talent (singer, songwriter, AND musician), and he honestly is an all-around nice guy.

I agree that Theo's version on Apologize was much better than Kris Allen's from American Idol. Kris didn't switch up the song at all, sang it rather lamely, and his piano playing wasn't nearly as good....In my opinion Theo is a far better vocalist and performer than Kris Allen. I'm so glad he won. For AI I'm hoping Adam Lambert wins; he deserves it so much. His vocals astound me. But anyways, back to Theo -- he is incredible.

Theo Tams does a much superior vocal on "Apologize" than Kriss Allen on American Idol 8. And so much has been made about Adam (whom I adore), but last yr Theo had a similar hairdo and he is gay, also. Here he is saying out loud and proud "I had to tell HIM that it was over." And Canadian voters had the good sense to vote an openly gay man as their Idol based on his voice. Hurray for us! I think our judges picked better songs for the contestants. I hope some Yanks read this blurb. Doubtful.

and he won... he would never win on american idol. he would make it in the top 10 and if hes lucky top 5 but he will never win I mean have u heard David Cook. In order for Theo to win he would have to be as good as david. Archie didnt win and he is better than theo.

I don't mean to be rude, and i have heard david Archuleta, but personally i don't think david Archuleta sings very good. Yeah he has a decent voice, it is good but Theo Tams is most definitly better. It doesn't matter high certain judges expectations are, the contestants are what they are and i personally think Theo is better. He is amazing.

I'd take Theo's voice over DA's any day. It's richer and more versatile, his phrasing is much better, and he's an accomplished pianist AND songwriter as well. In other words, Theo is a true musician, not just a singer. Check out Theo's song "Broken", which he recorded when he was around DA's age. There's no way DA is writing amazing material like that! Don't get me wrong. DA is good...but Theo is INCREDIBLE!!

I would take Theo's voice over Archies to and I from the same state as archie and I hated it when people would say how he sings so good and how he is hot and he deserves to win. I think they only wanted him to win just cuz their from the same state as him and cuz they think he's hot, I nomy mom islike that. anyway i just listened to broken and i loved it i accually loved how theo sand apologize the first time i heard of it. he looks better with short hair though

"Broken" is from Theo's "Unexpected" CD, which he released independently four years ago (so when he was 19). Regional voting is a problem here in Canada as well (probably a bigger problem than in the US), and there are times when a contestant gets further than he/she should have because regions vote them so high. Newfoundland is famous for it! :-)

oh lord you people are sensitive, personally I think Theo is way better then David Archuleta which is what i said prior but overall most of the American Idols are way better then the Canadian Idols... we have Kelly Carrie Jordin and David COOK (not Archuleta). Canada has Eva and Theo which are the only real stand-outs in my book... PS we are also only on season 8... not 10 and without American Idol.... there would be no Canadian Idol :)

I'm Canadian and I'll stand by the comment that American Idol is way better than Canadian Idol. Theo is the only Canadian Idol I like, he's been the best by a long shot! However I still think David Cook stands out way more than Theo. They are both AMAZING artists, but Cook is my favorite over anyone, anyday <3

Theo sang this song like he owns it!!! Oh my Gosh!!!If Canada does not want him as their idol, the USA recording companies will gladly take him!!!! We need an awesome voice like this on our radio!!!
