but even driving around in traffic...... you can put the shift to 3rd... its really nice to drive on the highway with even with lights... just leave it in 3rd and will downshift and ex........ also the steptronic in those modes....very nice
@sold13r45 nothing special, no buttons like the new ones ( Says Power ) but its the shifter.... 2nd 3rd and 4th ..... put it into those, the car will kick up its rpms to the 7k range then shift.... 2nd will take you to 55 mph ( not recommended thought shift a little before... watch the rpms ) notice the red line? on your speedomiter thats for the 2nd gear dont go past it... shift it into 3rd... take you to around 80... 4th is further..... those shifts are from 0 - whatever .......
this guy is fail hes trying to show the power of a 530i 94 but is terrible at it, notice the car went only to 4k rpm witch means hes doesnt even know how to put it sports mode..... ( i have 1994 530i touring, favorite car ive had )
For me personally it depends on what the car is being used for. I like manual if it's a recreational fun car or if I am racing it. If it is used for utility like a work car or commuter it's a little nicer to not shift all the time. Just my taste.
@vasilacheandrei - Unfortunately it's miserably difficult to come across an E34 (or any car) with a proper gearbox here. Though, I personally would never buy one that strays from that crucial specification.
nice car. I own a 89 E30 M3 myself, i wouldnt go any other way. My step bro needs a car, i found a 94 530i 5 speed with 211,000 for $950. The body is straight and seems to run and drive fine. My question is, have you had any significant problems with your car, and what is the mileage on yours? I know these cars hold up well, just looking for your personal opinion because you are an owner. Thanks-JON

@GermanRaiders Oh i see. Wouldn't I just keep it in automatic to get the most speed out of my car then?
sold13r45 1 year ago
@sold13r45 no because the car is a 6 speed....the car shifts in 4th gear to 6th at like 110 120... Drive is just for economic

I picked it up for $2000, So i'm not going to complain. I have a 6 speed Jetta VR6 that is awesome. I love manual transmissions..
