I hated this game with a passion. It was trying to be like deus ex or mass effect but failed at it. The overall story was ok but the gameplay was just extremely unfun. I love hybrid games but this one just didn't click.

Fuck all you haters yeah the gameplay doesn't click but it still works, I care the most about the story and characters and this game does all that well and gives you alot of choices which actually influence the story and your abilities. Plus the game has the best conversation options out of any rpg. Screw you all this was the best rpg of 2010 better than the piece of shit Fable 3 and the overrated Mass Effect 2 and Fallout New Vegas. My props to Obsidian I can't wait for the sequel.

This game is better than the vast majority of RPG's released this generation, including Mass Effect. All of the criticisms for AP, except perhaps the visuals, can be leveled at ME as well. Granted ME came out in 2007, but AP does some things even better. Critics displayed a massive double standard with this game.
This game is not that bad. Ima big spy fan so i really enjoyed this game. Yes i know the AI is retarded and the game itself is glitchy, but its still a good game that coulda been made into a sequel that could fix and make better the original game.

You cant bring Fallout or Dragon Age into this discussion since both of those games features a world at least ten times bigger than the one we see in AP. AP features 20-or-so missions where you don't just talk, and some of those are really short. With New Vegas however; I'm 50 hours into the game and I'm still finding things I haven't seen before. Both Fallout and Dragon Age feature many more voices and characters than Alpha Protocol which roughly has 28 that are named.

Alpha Protocol is a good RPG game and well written. what the editor seems to not understand is that the game requires that you focus your abilities (sneak/combat/engineer). you can't pretend to master the pistol if you don't invest your XP on that (as I see in vid,.. and pistol is the best gun and you can kill almost everyone with a single shot).
SEGA opted to push this game ahead instead of Aliens: Colonial Marines. This unfinished mess was given the OK before a highly anticipated soon to be (if ever released) masterpiece.
Even the developers admitted they should've cancelled Alpha Protocol, and gone with Colonial Marines instead.

Gamespot's review is amazing when compared to IGN. The reviewer sounds INTERESING rather than the drawling and boring sound of the IGN review, and they STILL manage to make a more in-depth review as well.
game has MASSIVE potential, goddamn shame it was ruined, i have a feeling it was the publisher who forced them to push it out when clearly it wasn't ready, which happens to alot of games that had insanely good potential.

yeah, the aiming needs some time to get used to it and stealth isn't really existing.
but on the other side - there will never be any stealth action like mgs again.
the industry likes to prduce pseudo-suave games that mix different genres and there are a lot of ad examples of that.
alpha protocol gives an interesting idea a try and if you get into it, it's worthwhile.

Gamespot's review is amazing when compared to IGN. The reviewer sounds INTERESING rather than the drawling and boring sound of the IGN review, and they STILL manage to make a more in-depth review as well.
Think I'll be trusting gamespot.

game has MASSIVE potential, goddamn shame it was ruined, i have a feeling it was the publisher who forced them to push it out when clearly it wasn't ready, which happens to alot of games that had insanely good potential.
also don't let bad reviews turn you from the game, it is FUN and you CAN get it for under 10$ every month during gamefly sales, it's well worth 10$

they shouldnt have released this game on consoles where presentation is the fad. This is the new Stalker, marred by bugs and poorly presented but had a lot of depth. I wonder if the Stalker series would have been released on consoles despite being loved by the PC crowd, it would have gotten horrible reviews and gotten low sales. buy this game if you are intrigued by it.
