  • BTW, why is everyone so amazed at the graphics? This was 1975, two years before "Star Wars" came out, seven years AFTER "2001: A Space Odyssey". They weren't the stone ages.

  • UNCOLAH... 'H' is for how high they were when they wrote this.

The 1970's--much missed and barely remembered.

  • thumbs up for sevin up throwback!

  • The logo was changed in January 1980.

  • Out of the blue, a rainbow rockets through.

  • You've just been 7up'd

  • so high.

  • WTF?

    see the light *RAINBOW*

  • Gotta love these psychedelic 70s commercials.

  • You can tell from the bass line this is an old 70s commercial.

  • O.O

Underfull? Nutty things it do? Prettier than cola? Anything it goes *5 seconds later* with?

    No..

  • On the technical aspect it is incredible for its time. But, a whole minute, it doesn't makes you feel attached to the product. Not a very good marketing method.

  • @Mukmeguil WRONG! In those days we had just come out of VIet Nam and Watergate. People wanted to forget those times. Gone were bell bottom jeans, the earthy look and protesting. People wanted to feel glamorous, gorgeous, chic and have fun. Disco was just coming on strong, and most were glitzy fantasy lands of art deco/moderne (reflected in this ad). Anything dazzling interested us, and this ad was dazzling. Trust me. I was there. I think you're looking at this in today's perspective.

  • they must have been smoking pot when they made this commercial.

  • That plastic Moon face for the "C" creeped me out!!

  • I can't belive this was made in '75. It has more of a late 80's or early 90's fell to it. And it does remind me of the Jacksons 1980 "Can You Feel It" video.

  • @Offthbadan Maybe just slightly ahead of it's time. These are from the 1970s. I remember them on TV circa 75-77!

  • The animation looks so advanced and cutting edge for 1975! And it was made here in Chicago!!! :)

2010 and beyond, you better be taking notes...

  • ....this is like best soda commercial I've ever seen.

  • Regular Cans were green.

    Sacarhin flavored Red

  • A Classic 7-UP commercial the un-cola too bad they dont advertise their product today like in the 70's you hardly know 7-up exists

  • This was done before computers, kids. Remarkable.

  • looks like a pro-LSD commercial.

  • what the hell is an underful.

so much lsd involved in this.

  • A = anything it goes..... with

    LOL random pause,,,

  • Mercury Rev totally used this on the cover of See you on the Other Side

  • one word: epic

  • Back-lit animation and psychedelic graphics...nothing today comes close man!

  • making C for Cola when it's called the "UnCola" is probably the laziest you can get.

consolation prize for "A is for the anything it goes. . . . . . with."

seriously that pause is hella long.

  • I surprised you didn't have a comment about 'underful' Let's face it, the budget for this one did not go to the writing department.

  • that was semi scary

  • This reminds me of that one video "can you feel it" by the jackson 5.

  • it should remind you of that video, 'cause robert abel was co-director of the video and his company did the visual effects for Can You Feel It.

  • Wow, just an amazing ad.

  • rainbows and the word "Nutty" haha

  • too bad you cant spell uncola without cola.

  • such a trippy commercial for that underfull uncola we now know as 7up... just wow. where the 'cid at??

  • The beginning of lightwave and all graphic tools that are used today.

  • The Narrator soulds waaay too excited near the end. A horrible mental image of his face flashed into my mind. It was scary.

  • Those were astounding special affects for the '70s LOL!

  • Mom, when I grow up, I wanna be Uncola.

  • "Underfull"?

  • O looks like The Ring of Death in an Xbox 360

  • People don't have this long of an attention span nowadays to watch a commercial this trippy.

  • obviously influenced by Sesame Street!

  • yea i was thinking that too lol

  • haha, Drugs much?

  • Once again I wish I had some pot! Trippy ass!
