rrod is easyer to fix your self , i got a rrod xbox off ebay for like 36 bucks cost me only 12 15 dollars to fix it i has been running for 2 years not a problem my brother had ps3 old he and my other brother clean it out replaced thermal paste and it was dead they got a slim because with the ps2 cpu adds heat plus new warranty only problem i have now is a dvdrom and i have a new one coming in the mail
atleast i will still have a blu ray players i culd watch if i get yrod and on the internet browser not on the 360 u dumbass i actually like entertainment

@tomo0086 yold is a lot less likely and sony fixes it if your warranty still is on, and you can always upgrade your warranty for 50$ per 2 years.. stfu moron
Microsoft have issued so many updates that the models from 2010 onwards show it's almost impossible to get RROD and it hasn't been gotten on the new xbox slim.
However, PS3's YLOD is getting worse in 2010 and 2011. It has passed out the RROD in 2011 in percentages.
@jakthebomb not to mention that microsoft jumped on it and overtime dereased its likely hood to the pint of almost never. i think that neither are as bad as the BSOD on the pc. i love all consoles. just curious, what is the wiis equivalent to the rrod and ylod?
I dont get you yanks people why do there console always breaks lol i dont see any Europe has any problems not as much in US btw why US charges you £150 that sucks but in UK sony fix it for free thats maybe i live in Northern Ireland cus i had my 60GB it had ylod and i send it back to sony to fix it but they never did so they send me new free 80GB ps3 back which i dont understand why is it the warranty i have so that they send me new one and sony dont fix my 60GB ?

It's also funny and ironic that my NES in which it's a 25+ year old machine can last longer than a PS3 or 360. Not because I've taken good care of it and it was probably reconditioned, but simply due to the mere fact that it was actually built to last. I have NOT heard ANY Nintendo console becoming faulty and unreliable. Why? Nintendo is the ONLY company that is all about quality and very good service.
YLOD on the first hr of gameplay? That is sad to hear bro. But it sucks to hear that both the PS3 & 360 fails more than any console on the market now. That is probably why I purchased the Wii (not to sound fanboyish). However, at least if my Wii was to have an issue, Nintendo would definitely repair it for free. However, in this day & time, PC, handhelds, & retro gaming is without a doubt, the last thing I would ever do with gaming. Hell, even the Wii would be my last resort of gaming.

I have never gotten yellow light of death on my ps3 slim, i have had it since x-mas 2009. Personally i think the arguing is stupid. Oh and another thing i think computer gaming is the best...

If you have a 360 and you have the unlikely event of a RROD, you can easily get a new 360 from microsoft.
If you have a PS3 and you have the unlikely but more likely than RROD YLOD, you cannot contact sony about it because they don't do anything about it.
