  • wow i have never seen a yellow one before. its like spongebob sqaurepants.

  • that is a nice color

  • Happy to see a vibrant yellow one.. Don't see too many of solid colored ones ><

  • man those shrimps are delicious, especially if they were putten in hotpot :)

  • should've gotten a cheaper aquarium, save some cash for a decent camera.

  • Aww, it's so pretty and colourful! :]

  • i like the peacock mantis shrimp its bigger and more colorful

  • its not a spearer

  • Some people are to lazy to educate them selves on anything they don't understand...

  • To show you what an obvious idiot you are . I used to have my 12 cm puffer with my 6 cm Mantis Guess who was chopped in pieces next morning.

  • behave silly person mantis shrimp are part of diet of large puffers in ocean and trigger fish kill them for fun do your research instead of thinking that little silly tank reflects the real situation

  • Can't they defend themselves fairly well? There's been at least one documented case where a spearer one-shotted an octopus.

Of course, octopuses are different from puffers and etc. etc.

  • dude theres more than 600 sp. of mantis shrimps. the ones that are eaten by triggers and filefish are the ones without powerful claws and just the good eyesight. the ones we see in the hobby are normally the spearer or smasher types and wont take no shit from a fish. i learnt the hard way i put a niger trigger fish and picaso trigger fish in my tank to kill a mantis and the 4cm shrimp killed both of those fish :(.

  • then whats the type i ate for dinner :)

  • you do realize that i'm black dumbass and raw is not rare fucking idiot raw just so i can explain it to your dumbass means cool or vicious

  • nigga its not obvious your black, so whyd u call me a dumbass i dont talk your shitty language.

  • wow thats cool all yellow lol

  • large mantis shimps can fuck you up if you grab the bare handed. also the fastest attacker in the world

  • hey guys, lay off the moms, i just got off yours.

cool vid btw mantis shrimp are metal.

  • Whats with the bright yellow color?! Some camouflage...

  • thats a small mantis shrimp...

  • Still a mantis shrimp.

  • do you no what looks good under mine... your face

  • my face with your moms ass

  • lol i'd step on my mums ass but that would be stupidly irregular so i'd rather just step on ya face as i planned to

  • yap..yap..yap..little boy...go play with your shrimp!!!!

  • lol little boy? with a name thekidsta? mate i dont care about how much you dislike me or how you could try and drag my mum into this cus i think you mst be really bored to say something about my mum when you don't know her

  • what a pretty mantis shrimp, man! =)

  • What kind of Mantis shrimp is that? Verry cool looking.

  • the mantis shrimp is a hunter, she wants to hunt, not be fed

  • How big is he?

  • while livve foods are better since mantis shrimp in captivity can have not been well-documented as far as dead foods, i can think of a better use for an expensive Blue Chromis.

  • Has the shrimp ever decided to punch the tank wall?

  • it's a documented fact that Mantis Shrimp gklept in too small an environment have escaped by breaking the glass.

  • Mantis shrimp are kept in acrylic tanks, as they are capable of smashing through the walls of normal glass fish tanks.

And for those interested, yes, I did in fact use wikipedia.

  • m8 ur fucking sick trapping that fish nin there with that thing, how about u video yourself giving it a kiss?

  • It's gotta eat?

  • yeah but u can feed it frozen lobsters eggs, they hell of alot cheaper and it aint sick

  • Fucking hippy faggot

  • what the hell do you think they eat in the wild?

lobster eggs? i dont think so, its the same thing when we boil shellfish like crab lobsters and shrimp alive, why dont you complain about that?

  • while i usually resent the use of live feeder animals, Mantis Shrimp as an aquarium hobby is not a well-developed field so until people find a way to deliver dead foods to the Shrimp in a lifelike manner and still come out with 5 fingers on each hand many owners use live foods. however, as you see in the MANTIS SHRIMP SAND EEL video, some pioneers are doing a great job of stepping away from live foods and making dad foods from a bait and tackle shop look live. credit to them.

  • mantis shrimp pwn no matter wut species, and they taste like lobsters with fudge!

  • People are weird who enjoy watching their pets kill other animals.

  • on youtube

  • poor fishy!!

  • Though I hate mantis thats a very pretty one

  • the mantis shrimp is just like muhammed ali, it flies like a butterfly, and it stings like a bee

  • that's a beautiful mantis. They almost remind me of little lobsters with that thick tail.

  • chromis tend to be pretty peaceful...they are related to damsels, but they are different species entirely. Clownfish are also related to damsels, are they very agressive and mean as well?

You could make an arguement that a clownfish is "agressive and mean", but only when its being territorial around other species of clownfish...

  • never seen a sea mantis. thanks for upload

  • That is a chromis man. They're one of the most peaceful fish out there.

  • apparently you dont know your fish... a "chromis" is a type of dmasel MAN. and actually they are not peaceful they actually kill many of the smaller chromis damsels in the schools that are weaker by ramming into them, i know because ive owned 13 of them of which 4 have died due to the larger ones picking and bullying the smaller ones.

  • Then do your research next time, besides why are you getting so offended by that.

  • I see those at kewalo basin in the little pools of water

  • how much was your aquriam including the fish

  • I got the tank for free inclduing the filter and light. Heater was 20 bucks, Live Rock was another 100 I would guess, and the cost me around 40 total. The mantis was 15 dollars, and the fish was 3.

  • @deboM3 oi dude where do u live around cause i wanna buy a mantis shrimp but i dont know anyshops that sells them

  • Very nice mantis. I have never seen a yellow one. Where did you find this one?

  • I found it at a fish store near Pismo Beach, CA for $15. Hes still doin well shuffling sand as i type, but I havnt fed a live fish since this video.

  • What do you feed it then?

I read it is otherwise really difficult to feed them already dead food.

12 cents feeder fish are freshwater, unfortunately, so it is probably much to expensive to really feed the mantis shrimp live fish; not sure how a freshwater fish would do in saltwater, but it would probably dehydrate much to quickly to really be able to act like proper live prey while in salt water, and thus wouldn't work.

  • small bait crabs

  • that mantis is cool i like the spearing type better than the hammer type

  • That's asshole talk, I have the balls to handle it, I just think it's gay. Youtube is for sharing videos and voicing opinions...

  • Better a 'pussy' than an asshole ;).

  • almost 3 inches

  • cool and i love Mantis Shrimps but i cant say i totaly agree with feed live food but then it happens in the wiled

  • wow very blurry

  • Cool!

  • great video, beautiful spearer.

  • Realy cool mantis and set up, but feeding it live fish is gay really.

  • I thought it was a cool vid. If your pissed of because a damsel was pissed off by a mantis you must be a tree hugger.

  • Horrible video.
